Skinny fat vs fit photo

Might help someone to better understand the differences. One has more muscle, or better conditioned muscle then the other photo. Note the 10 pounds weight difference, yet the heavier weight is "smaller" and tighter.

I will add though, personally, I am 10 lbs scale heavier now, then I was before at this same smaller "clothing size" I am now (8/10). So my experience is like those of the girl in the photo.
But I have better tightness, definition etc, (then I did in the past in the skinny fat place)0 -

Excellent. Great work, and thank you for posting this. A perfect example of an important concept. Great illustration of why BMI is not accurate for active people.

There are pictures where Staci goes goes from 117lbs to 131lbs to 142lbs but stays pretty much the same size, while looking a lot stronger and more fit.0 -

wow! Awesome job! I struggled with the number on the scale for awhile since I started weight training. I've now given up on the scale because I went up a few pounds. Great example of how the number on the scale isn't the only thing that matters! Thanks for posting!!

I also like this info article. Its about Crossfit - but has some skinny fat vs fit photos, though not of the same girl. And explains what it is, how to address it etc,

And Leigh Peeles Body Fat percentage images, are eye opening as well. No skinny fat, but gives you perspective on how different body fat can look - no matter what the scale weight. (which is not the best thing to judge your loss by, just one tool)
