do you toss out the bread?

it's not a burger without the roll, sorry
and bread is yummy so no reason to totally cut it out, just fit it into your daily cals0 -
I usually go with one slice of bread. Throw away the top and eat the bottom. It better for me as far as satisfying my cravings, but typically cuts out at least 100 calories.0

Yes, I toss the bread. I have Celiac and the bread will make me deathly ill. I think the burger tastes yummy just by itself with the lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and salt.0

it depends on where you're eating said burger. i've had burgers on fresh made brioche buns, but i'm perfectly fine with a martin's potato roll0 -

I agree. Not to mention, why is a cheeseburger "cheating"? Fit it into your calories if you want a cheeseburger. None of this lettuce-is-a-bun nonsense for me.0 -

You're from either PA or NJ I bet!

I like eating hamburgers bunless with a fork. I'd rather eat my calories in the form of bacon and grilled onions on top. Yum yum.0 -
Carb intake boils down to timing. Pre-activity and post-activity are your best windows of opportunity to replenish your body's glycogen levels.0

Well burger buns are normally awfully made stuff so I wouldn't be surprised, I give it to the person with me/dog.Nope, I bread...but I try and use lower calorie, high fiber, low sodium bread. If I don't have it, I feel unsatisfied and will usually have an unhealthy snack or 3. Just be smart about your choices. Anything can be eaten in moderation.
Where do you get such mythical low in everything bread? Most I can ever find is danish white light which I don't really trust, and it's almost impossible to judge the calories on something nice, brown and hearty.
Bread is easy to make, and I make it with little to no fat and very little salt, plus there *are* ready made breads that are much better qualitiy. low (or no) fat, low sodium - and those all come with nutrition information on the wrapper. You don't have to "judge" the calories - just read the label!
You must be talking about fresh bakery bread? You can ask for nutritional information. I mostly make my bread, but other than at the bakery, I haven't seen any without a label. And I have never *bought* bakery bread, since it isn't going to be any fresher than homemade!0 -
Nope but then I'm a carb addict!! I try and switch to a whole grain bun/roll/bread when possible.0

Thank you, that was what I was going to say. And I was asking what these ready made brands that have good nutritional content actually are.
Ezekiel breads in the freezer section!0 -
Why order a burger? Just fry your own hamburger patty at home.0

I actually replace the bun with a sandwich thin. 100 calories, fiber and low in sugar. I also have had a salad and cut up a turkey burger and threw it in. OK lets get real here, I didn't throw it in, that's just rediculous! I twirled around as I tossed it high in the air bounced it off the microwave and into my salad while doing a 360 cartwheel style triple antandra dble axel with a bangin high five to yo mother. :noway:0

I never used to but I've just watched the fat head movie on you tube and it's totally changed my way of thinking. I'll be tossing the bread for sure now0

If you like it, fit it into your calories. Most commercially prepared breads are too calorie-dense and nutrient-poor (not to mention bland) for me to really care about them. I'd rather have bacon and avocado and skip the bun.0

When I eat a burger from a restaurant I eat the bread. When I have cravings at home I actually have a burger meal saved in my diary. I pile lettuce on a plate, tomatoes, 1 chopped pickle spear, some fat free shredded cheddar, 1 serving or less of cooked lean beef drained, and I use ketchup and mustard as dressing. I love my burger salads!0

I never understood that either. Do you know how much bacon I could get instead of a soggy, greasy piece of bread??0 -
I try not to eat much bread any more, I have switched to Jospehs lavash bread its delish (i was very hesitant at 1st ) but it is only 50 calories for 1/2 .0

I cut out bread as I suspect a mild wheat intolerance as I bloat instantly and put on about 3lbs by end of day. I use Gluten free bread so can have my toast and eggs at weekend (only once a week) and I still only go up by 1lb a day since going low carb.0
