Ok so how are you logging thanksgiving?

Are you going to enter in new recipes for each thing, or just generalize it?? Or are you even going to log? I just am not sure if I will because I don't know how each thing is made except for what I make... I know that my mom makes some things with lots of butter... I don't plan on worrying about calories but I plan to portion control.

Not logging. Run in the AM, then chow town, without going too overboard. There will likely be some afternoon leftover grazing too. Then, back to normal on Friday.

I'm not going to log it..... but I'm not going to eat my weight in food. Enough to enjoy it but not kill what I've accomplished. It only comes once a year which means I only get some of those foods once a year.... I want a little of everything... and I'll bust my butt after to make up for it. I like gravy....mmmmm

I'm logging. Making my falafel loaf and mini cheesecake cupcakes. May have half a sweet potato, some turkey, and steamed asparagus. That's really all I need!

I plan to get in a big burn work out somehow before! Then I will watch portions and enjoy what I really love to eat.

I hadn't even thought about it - good question! I think I won't log anything, but set some advance ground rules - only 1 serving of my Nana's amazing mac and cheese, for example. Oooh that's going to be a hard day...

I'm logging it. 6 oz of turkey breast, no gravy. Baked sweet potato and steamed green beans. I get it like this; I can't make stuffing to save my life (or gravy for that matter), my mashed potatoes are like eating chunks of potatoes in soupy mush, and anything with too much fat in it makes me sick. So I may as well log it all since none of it's bad anyway.

I"m not logging...just showing up and enjoying the day.
  • I probably won't log...... this whole having to go to 2 dinners and eat at both to make everyone happy sucks! I'm going to be better this year and watch my portions but logging sounds like it would be annoying and I want to enjoy my favorite holiday of the year!

I'm going to try to log either by using general recipes already in the database or by adding quick-add calories or adding ingredients.

I'm not going to try to calculate every single calorie, I'm just going to try to keep a log of what I ate and roughly how many calories.

Stressing about the small-ish calorie difference between precise logging and general logging of rough calories is too much to worry about on a day I want to spend with my family, but doing a general logging will help keep me on track at least somewhat (or minimize the damage done by knowing how many extra calories I should burn off the next week).

Do what works for you :)

I didn't log last year. I tried building in the recipes since I was making it, but it just took too darn long, and I ate too darn much anyway. I'll just be extra careful in the next week to not go over/be decently under so that I don't feel too bad about it. Plus we are making a bunch of low-cal recipes this year, so it shouldn't be as bad as last year.
  • I think a 60 minute trail run and some plyometrics with my husband in the a.m. should do the trick as long as I eat a small breakfast :) The leftovers is where you can get into trouble. It's not such a big deal to go over your cals one day... but 3 days in a row can spell t-r-o-u-b-l-e :)

I'm really not planning on logging. I'm just going to be watching my portions and making sure not to snack while cooking like my mom and i usually do every year.

Also, my family will be re-flooring my house on Friday, so I should get a decent workout there!

I am logging to the best of my ability because you would be amazed how fast you can eat 1,000 calories and i don't wantto do that. I am eating turkey breast, a little of the mashed potatos, green bean cassarole, and some brocolli and one dinner roll, maybe some cranberry relish too

I am not a big dessert fan, I crave salts more than sweets but if you want a piece of pie a small piece wouldn't hurt

I'm just going to enjoy Thanksgiving. I'm not going to worry about the calories and probably not even the portions on that day. The day before and the day after I may try to eat extra light, though.
