I was a pack a day smoker and 206lbs heading into 30 last year. I quit the smoking right before I turned 30, but I still was out of shape. July of this year I decided to see how fit I could get before 31 with a goal of being in the best shape of my life. Here is the progress with a little less than a month before I turn 31.

I wasn't on a special diet. I just followed My Fitness Pal to count everything. After about a month, I think I pretty much had a diet in place that worked for me. I guess in a nut shell.. I stay to the outside edge of the Grocery store. Fresh meats and fresh vegetables is the core of my diet.

I started with P90x, moved to regular gym with cardio and lifting, and I just joined a CrossFit gym which I plan on continuing that into next year.

wow, impressive. That's all it takes, finding the "IT" within us and you can take it all the way. Congrats man! There's no better feeling right? and when you're fit, you are more aware of everything else, including being happier all around. Don't stop there and keep challenging yourself. I'm on a roll, working to the best shape as well before I turn 40 this coming September.
