ok i made a mistake, splurge or pig OUT
im sorry my english is not perfect0 -
i know the feeling...bucket of hagen daaz, bucket of ben and jerrys...3 candy bars...jamba juice white gummy bear...potato chips...in one sitting. *.*
I used to do the above frequently...i think just dont keep much junk in the house...if you want candies, only bring so much money...make sure you have an idea of what you want first...
also...everyday counts...so just remember that tomorrow is another day~ good luck0 -
I stay away from it, because I too can't stop once I start.
Only advice I can give you is that, because I am bad at saying "No".0 -
yeah me too, i cant stop when i start!! omg i do feel bad.
thanks guys!0 -
Log it and forget about it is what I do.
One day over is not going to hurt you.. Yes, you may gain a little in water weight.. but thats about it.
Next time remember this feeling, and I'm sure you'll think twice about doing it.0 -
it's just too painful to log it...
i will definitely try not to do it anymore i swear, the feeling is awful even though i know i cant gain too much weight from one day!
thanks for your support0 -
I exercise like Forest Gump. Gumping it has been my guilt removal tool for some time now lol0
-
gumping is not a bad idea )0
-
I just ate way too much pizza I knew I should have stopped but I just couldnt!!!0

That is painful!0 -
I made praline bacon to take into work. Let's just say that I'll be carrying it in to school two different ways ...
My golly ....... IT'S DELICIOUS!!!0 -
i dont even try to count!
but yeah, alcohol makes that "oh what the hell" feeling. i know what you mean.0 -
HaHa, same here. For me it's alcohol. The other day we had some nice mulled wine in the garden with a blanket and a little fire and I was embrassed to admit I drank 3 cups - 220kcal EACH!!!!
That is painful!
I hate the idea of logging my alcohol take in its far too painful and now we are in the Christmas session it’s only going to go up Saying no though is just so hard on both the food and drink front, but I did find it easier just to say no cause when I start I just don’t stop then live to regret it!!! Alcohol wise I have been trying just to stick with vodka, lime and soda. x0 -
Get the nutella out of the house! That stuff is DANGEROUS! lol0
-
urghhh.
i know, its so hard to stop.
but i SWEAR to all mfp friends, from tomorrow im going to open my diary and you WON'T see me pigging out again before january fifth (thats when my trip to philippines is)0 -
We all have our days where we just need to stuff ourselves but as long as you try to limit it then you will be fine. Try to save some calories for the stuff you really like so you dont feel deprived and feel the need to pig out. I did it last night so I know how you feel. Barbeque chips and frozen yogurt last night...ugh!0

If that is you in your picture, I really don't think you have anything to worry about. My little sister used to regularly eat a whole tub of haagen dazs, and yet has never been bigger than a UK size 6 at 5'7".0
-
yep thats me but the photo's taken in summer.
i kinda wanna look like that again and i need to get ready for the beach in one month!
its good to know that there are some "humans" out there though
thanks for support, again0 -
it's just too painful to log it...
i will definitely try not to do it anymore i swear,
I agree with you these moments of total loss of control are painful to log...(and believe me I use to never log them:blushing: ) but YOU HAVE TO! Nothing is more eye opening than actually logging these moments.:noway: You will be able to actually see what your putting into your body. Yea a whole bag of chips, a candy bar, and a pop tart (this happened to me once) seems like a bit too much but you can't actually know the consequence of these unless you log them. You will log it and see that you ate all your calories for one day, in one sitting!! I say you start actually logging these moments and see if that helps for them to happen less...it worked for me.
With that being said, don't beat yourself up for mistakes. Just move on...:flowerforyou:0 -
Good point about the logging, Hope!
I've been splurging lately too. I hope I can get it under control.
Good luck to you too!!0 -
Thanx Sunny ...I think if we knew we weren't able to have a candy bar ever again this whole thing would not work. So there is nothing wrong with splurging every now and then....
Good luck to you as well :flowerforyou:0 -
i used to do it a lot - but i think you have to be aware of your trigger points and try to avoid everything you can to get to that trigger. For me it was coming home to an empty house - i try to fill my afternoons with a gym class, clutching up with friends etc. The biggest factor then is when i come home after a night out and have been drinking - my willpower is defiantly weakened - even though i try to avoid having any junk in the house, if i have anything with chocolate or sugar in it - (even chocolate protein bars!), ill consume it!!! Things are a lot better now that i try to avoid coming home to empty house, or doing so after drinking - and consciously be aware of that.0

im afraid i ate a little bit more than that.
thanks a lot, its very helpful, ill just hate myself when i see all that. hopefully ill never do such thing anymore
the worst thing is that when i eat so hysterically (trust me we can call it that) i dont really enjoy all those foods. in fact, i would enjoy a nice piece of cake after my salad, on the day when i did well (but i never do that since i feel that im destroying all the effort), and it has way less calories than this!0 -
omg me too, i cant say i eat when im "emotional"-when im emotional i cry-but i eat when im simply BORED.
i lost 12 lbs even though i didn't exercise but from tomorrow i will join the local gym, the splurging today gave me a new, painful motivation!0 -
I say log what you ate in your food diary, no matter how painful...the next time you think about splurging go back to that day and read how many calories that splurge cost you!!!0

AWWW don't hate yourself Your allowed to make mistakes! And beleive me that was just an example I gave. we have all splurged to the point if we ever found out someone saw how much we had eaten we would be absolutely mortified. And I agree you don't even really enjoy the food. It is just a numb experience that offers absolutely no benefits but making us hate ourselves more  but I think you noticing the problem is going to be a big help! You are so beautiful and this hiccup along the road is going to be nothing once you overcome it! Dont be so hard on yourself!:flowerforyou:0 -
Splurging is part of life. You can't make MFP work if you stop logging at exactly the time you are engaging in the eating behaviors that are a problem. In fact, you should log every bowl of ice cream before you eat it, using a food scale to get the precise calories. And remember that if you splurge with one bowl instead of three, you'll have enough ice cream to splurge three times
And you can eat the same food with less guilt if you log first, because you won't be "out of control." You will be in complete control of your choices, but as an adult, the choice is yours to eat or not.0 -
hope516 you're so sweet! thank you, all that support means a lot to me!
i will try to see this as an "experience".... and to continue the hard work tomorrow!!0 -
ok guys i'll take your advice, im starting to log in... wow this will take a while... and at least 1000 calories!0
-
