First of all, I think you should be amazingly proud of the work you've done, and I commend you for showing us your progress! I wish I had taken pictures when I first started, or did measurements, or SOMETHING. Sometimes it's really hard to see what you've done. Great job!

Thanks for a bit of inspiration, too!

  • Congrats and keep up the good work. I've lost 37 and have 20-25 to go. I am also petite at 5'0" and my goal is 115-120. at my height I don't have anywhere to hide a bulge!! I had heart surgery in March so I'm taking the exercise real slow but I'm still seeing results. Don't give up. I know somedays are hard to stay motivated, but jsut look at your pics ----what a difference!

Awesome progress!!! You can definitely see a difference!! I'm going to add you as a friend. I'm 5'4" and starting out at 230 so, we're in basically the same boat!

(You're way ahead of me in terms of progress, though. :P )

    How did you do it?

How are you calculating your body fat?

I have my body fat % calculated using hydrostatic weighing. It's the underwater method that is scientifically the most accurate. I have this test done once a month. In addition to that I also have my measurements done once a month by the same person for as much consistency as I can get. As for how I did it ... First and foremost I changed my diet completely. A lot less fast food and a lot more cooking. I read labels religiously at the grocery store always trying to pick the best options especially when it concerns calories and sodium in the food. I started exercise I usually get it in 6 days a week, but as an average I would say 3-5 days a week I exercise. I believe I lost the most inches because of circuit training. I do Jillian's 30 day shred program in rotation with walking, running, the elliptical, my favorite step aerobics class, and Zumba. I have an excellent support team and I don't let a bad food choice ruin my whole day. I do still have a cheat day every once in a while. I would say like once a month if that. Good luck with your journey.
