5'1.5" here, lost 36lb so far, looking to lose 2 more for my short goal, 5 more after that.. Stick with your MFP schedule and learn to enjoy exercise, and you'll do just fine. Good luck!0

Well....I am 5'2, but had a lot more weight to lose than you do! You can read my profile for the rundown on how I gained my weight, lost it and gained it again...I have lost 40 pounds since I joined MFP and have really learned a lot about eating proper portions, etc. Feel free to add me! I still have about 15 pounds until i get to my goal!0

How did you guys do it, was it really hard. I use to be really skinny before my kids and now I find I am in a body that I just wasn't meant to have. I wanna re find that body again that small shirts small jean girl0

Wasn't hard for me. I decided I was going to change, not just for a little while to lose weight and then revert to my old ways. I would never do that to myself again.
I started by walking my kids to school (that meant 2 miles a day M-F). I didn't start and think, "I'm going to lose weight this way." I had no concept of how to lose weight because I was athletic as a kid and slim as a teenager. I never had to worry about it until my 20s.
After 2 weeks of walking I had way more energy, and I thought "I exercise. So I should be losing weight." (Told you, no concept.) Coincidentally, a Fitness magazine appeared and it explained creating a calorie deficit, and how many to stop eating in order to lose 1 lb a week. I had no idea how much I ate until then. Once I knew, it was easy to figure out where to cut out the calories. Fast food was the first to be eliminated, then soda (empty calories - I can think of a lot more decadent things to consume for 170). Then I had to cut out sugar entirely because it made it too difficult to fight cravings. I liked walking so much, I decided to do it every day.
So, it was not difficult for me. I just didn't know how to do it before. Now I do. Easy peasy, man.0 -
Read your bio, you sound like me, except I was a little older when I had my kids but still the same.
I'm 5'3''. For me, I was tired of being heavy. I felt frumpy and didn't feel like the 24 year old I actually was.
I started slowly, by cutting out the junk. Then watching portions.
The big thing I want to remind you of is that having children changes you forever. You may never get back to your high school shape because your not in high school anymore. You have 2 kids, I can guarantee your body isn't the same.
Just make realistic expectations. you'll get back down but it may look different than before.0 -

I know I know I will never see a size 1 again or that little itty bitty waste but I know I can rock a size 4-6 and look good. It is possible. It has to be !0 -
I'm 5'2-5'3 and have lost 43 pounds since the summer I gave no "human" children so my 9 fur babies can't contribute to the weight gain lol. I kept staring at pics from my senior prom in '07 and wanted to be like that again. I still have 28 lbs left to lose. My ultimate goal weight is 135. I've never been that skinny my adult life, so it will be a joy to get as close as I can to that goal!0

I'm 5'1.5" and a mom of three, I started on this site three years ago when I stopped nursing my daughter. I lost 32lbs. relatively easily -- over just a few months.
Since then I've hit a plateau and reset my ticker and now I'm having a harder time starting to lose again!! So thanks for posting this, I needed to see some success stories as well.0 -

I'm 5"2, weighed 114lb and lost 20lb in around 4 months thanks to MFP.
I did it with regular running and basically eating healthier while still having the foods I loved in moderation.
Here's a before and after:

I'm 4'11 and have learned 5 pounds of weight on a small frame looks like 15...so... it almost seems harder to get that weight off and I have dound success by staying active and when the scale doesnt move but the clothes get smaller, that is a win and try not to get like me and frustrated. Good luck!0

I'm 39 years old and thought the same thing. I have lost more weight at this age in a shorter amount of time than I did before I turned 30.lol0 -
4'11" and 57 years old......164lbs size 16 jeans.......down 22 and wearing size 10 jeans. Corrected some cholesterol and triglyceride issues and did not have to go on meds. 10-15 more I want to lose, but the weight loss is slowing......I can be patient and I will do it!!0

I'm 5'2" and lost 19 pounds in two months! Thought that was absolutely impossible but it was not, obviously. If you get on a balanced diet and exercise regimen, the weight will come off in no time. It's not the easiest thing but can definitely be done with a reasonable amount of effort. MFP makes it so much easier than doing it on your own. Good luck to you!:-)0

well, i dont have any success yet but im going to try this for a while i think im going to give it 6 weeks to see if lifting weights is going to help me at all. Im thinking at my age it may make so much since that cardio and high reps and low weights worked in my 20's because i had more muscle mass, but since im 42 my metabolism is so low i do cardio like crazy and have not lost a thing so, im thinking if as we age we lose muscle, if i do heavy weights and some cardio maybe just maybe I can lose the fat hmmmm lol0 -
Im 5'1.5 and yes the half counts;p I have two children 7.5 and 4.5. Im 32. I am happy to get to say I am the healthiest I have ever been. I can run half marathons and hike mountains and keep up with my kids and move heavy things by myself ( I like that part!) while getting stronger and healthier every year instead of the opposite like most women my age. Its EXCITING!!! I started seriously getting healthier at about 160 pds and Im now 125.4 SO close to seeing 124 and I just recently got out of a stuck period by getting really honest about the bite here and the bite there of this and that. At our height it makes a BIG difference and its what I needed:) My goal is 115 so 10 pds to go and I may decide to go lower when I reach that or I may get to 118 and decide no lower... mainly Im trying to lean out and allow my muscles to show by lowering my body fat. I do exercise 6-7 days a week doing anything from stretching or yoga to hiking, running, P90x, snowboarding, walking to the park with the kids, something everyday:) You can do it!!!!0

I'm 5' and just starting. Starting weight is 172.8 and I'm trying to get to 120. I weighed that a few years ago, got pregnant at 130 and put on a little more than I planned. My son is 6 months old and I finally got the motivation to get my *kitten* in gear. I can't be looking like this next summer0
