SAMARA ..... easy to spell, easy to say, means Guarded by God. And I don't mind sharing with you. Its my daughters name and she is now 20yrs old and I'm proud of her. She is not so good to be boring not so bad that I want to disown her. I thought the name would get shortend to Sam but only 2 people ever have and one called her Mara.0

Just for the record, the most successful men in history have been names John, George and William, James and Richard, among a few others. Just as the most successful women have been names Kathryn, Elizabeth and Helen (among several others.) Jack and Chris are considered lucky names. Ryan, James and Jack are considered names of attractive people. Just a bit of trivia.0

I love Brionna or Brianna however you wanna spell it : )0

My friend jut had a son and they named him Bostrom, their daughter is named Colbie.
I like: Emily/Emilia, Hannah, Sophia, Olivia, Natalia, Natasia,-those types of names for girls.
My sister calls me Emberly after a character in an Edward Gorey book, so I'm partial to that name as well.
In my opinion different is nice, but you need to pick something suitable for both a child and an adult, and nothing that will get them picked on. But what do I know? I've only ever named cats (Bullet, Lily, and Megatron).0 -

My seventeen year old daughter is Anna Michelle. It has suited her from day one and I don't think it will ever go out of style.
It is an elegant feminine name for an elegant feminine young lady!
From time to time you will hear "Annie Banannnie!!! " but otherwise it is pretty elegant!0 -
Maybe you should ask your son to name her, you may be surprised!
I was surprised my son came up with the name Jayna for our daughter, and it stuck!0 -

Have you seen that Friends episode where they are going back and forth naming the baby?
I think Ava is a great name, London, Austen (boy or girl, spelled like Jane Austen's name). My cousin named her baby Ivan Alexander (after a metallica guitarist). We love to know where our parents got our names from: a movie (I am named after an actress), a relative, a city. If you can think of something that you love and connect that with your child that would be Awesome!0 -
My guidelines for naming my boys was a family name for the middle name, and a name with good meaning for the first. My eldest means God's peace growing, and my second is Who is Like the Lord Well Loved. Also- since our last name is complicated to pronounce and/or spell, I gave them first names that were easy to pronounce and spell so everyone would get part of their name right!
So why not get a list of names of the grandmas, great grandmas and great-great grandmas and see if there are any other popular names in the family and choose from there? Something that rings, something that goes with your last name, etc.0 -
my advice, blend two that you both like.. Averess? hahah just saying?0

I think people have gone so far out of their way to find unique names for their kids that some of them are just down right ridiculous. Keep in mind this child will grow up eventually so you want it to be name they want be embarrassed by. I tried to give my kids names that I thought weren't that common and now it seems like everyone is a Katie or a Taylor. I had reasons for picking these names thought, not just because I liked them. My kids are named after people.
Good luck in your search and I am sure you will pick something wonderful. For a girl I really like Emily and I am sorry but I have no good suggestions for a boy.0 -
I like Ella0
-
I love Ashley thats my daughters name!0

Here are a few of our hates and likes....
I like Ashlyn, Emberlei, Avery, Felicia, Brooklyn, Mataya, Madison - He hates them all.
He likes Rockel, Mercedes, Cypress - I don't like any of them.
Only nicknames I could come up with for the ones you listed were: Ash, Brook, Madi but they all sound good when yelled.
For the names he listed, I could NOT come up with a single nickname & none of them sound good when yelled.
I also agree with a family name for a middle name.
My cousin just named her daughter Harley & I think that is cute.
Good luck.0 -
