I made these yesterday and really enjoyed them. Only changes I made was I substituted applesauce for the oil and did not use raisins. This gave my 24 small cookies. Using the MFP recipe function it came to 87 calories for 2 cookies per serving. I liked the idea someone had of adding cinnamon and may try it next time.

What I found I like best about this recipe was not the idea of using it as a cookie, but instead having them made up and in the fridge for an "On the Go" type of breakfast. This morning I was running late to get to the gym and I needed to eat something quickly before going to work out. I grabbed to of the cookies out of the fridge and had them for breakfast. They tasted good cold, were filling and I got the energy boost I needed before my workout. Brilliant!

Yes you can replace oil for the applesauce. That is what I would do with this recipe.

  • I just ran across this cookie recipe and they tasted great! I was looking for a recipe that was slightly sweet and would trick me into thinking i'm having a sweet snack when i'm really just having breakfast. With only five ingredients that you're sure to have on hand, give it a try!
    3 medium ripe bananas
    2c. rolled oats
1c. raisins, or other chopped, dried fruit
    1/3c. oil
    1t. vanilla

Mash bananas, add other ingredients, mix well. Can add some salt to taste. Let sit for 15 minutes. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 24 cookies, 74 calories each.

    Thanks for sharing...this sounds yummy!

Very good!!! I baked them for 21 minutes and they were still soft so I went 23 minutes, perfect. Also, they did not spread like I thought they would, the keep whatever shape you drop them onto the cookie sheet. Thanks for an awesome recipe.

I have them in my oven right now. Mmmm....smells so yummy. I substituted the oil for applesauce, added some cinnamon and nutmeg, and skipped the raisins. Can't wait to try them!
