so, understand, that your answer here may not be entirely realistic. mine probably isn't. but I've always thought I'd like to go and run with the bulls once in my life. (once I get in shape, of course ... no better target than the fat guy in the back of the pack, right?)

what's your fantasy adventure?

  • Has anybody ever heard of doing the Camino? A 500 mile walk through Spain, and a sacred medieval tradition. It's gonna happen someday!

There is a set of steps on an island in Ireland that I want so badly to walk without keeling over. It's on Skellig Michael, off County Kerry. It passes a bunch of "beehive" monk huts and a couple of stone oratories from around AD 600.

When I first moved to Alaska, it was my dream to someday stand at the top of Mt. McKinley. I think I may settle for the summit of several smaller mountains.

My big one would be to take a trip to the Moon and stay at the Lunar Hilton. Don't expect anyone will do that in my lifetime - so, a more realistic one - Spend my retirement traveling, lots of it on my bike.

Mine is to complete the Grouse Grind without killing myself, LOL
  • I'm planning on racing the tour divide race in 2013. It runs between Banff Canada and the Mexican border. 2700 miles by mountain bike, on your own, self supported. It crosses the continental divide about 21 times and has 200 000 feet of climbing all on bike.
As training for that I'm racing in the American Birkiebiner xc ski race this February. 54 kms of classic skiing through Wisconsin.
