People get "Leo", just fine, but the full Russian name that Leo is a shortening of, people don't get. Plus, my Romanian surname is always, always mispronounced!

It gets to me, that even when I spell my surname out, loud and clear, on invoices and letters, sure enough, it's spelled wrong.

My name is Lois, pronounced the American way - Low-iss but in Wales where i live there is another pronounciation with the same spelling which is pronounced Loys (as in rhymes with Boys) I hate it!!! but teachers at school would refuse to pronounce my name correctly as they said i was Welsh so would have to pronounce my name as such. After i argued with them i refused to answer them in class. My 3 BIL's often come out with it to wind me up though, lol!!!

    Name is Stephen.

Simple, right? Apparently not. I've heard Stefen and Stefan... when it's STEPHEN! You know, like Steven? Except with a PH instead? D'oh!

My full name is Jaclyn, a very simple name but is very Americanized. I remember when I was in 2nd grade, my teacher always pronounce my name as Jacylyn. Meanwhile my amigos pronounce it as Yakelin. Anyway I hate that name because I find it too feminine & just prefer to be called Jack or Jackie.

People always butcher my last name, and that blows my mind. It's actually very simple. Just use all the letters in order from left to right.

    Mihaljevic

For anyone who may be wondering, it's Croatian, and it's pronounced mi-HAL-je-vic. See? Simple. :)
