Up for a Summer Challange??? 20 lbs by August 31st

Hi everyone! This is my first day and I cannot believe I am only now discovering this amazing site.
Straight to the point...I'm a 42 and 40lbs overweight. In a word, FAT.
The weird thing is that I haven't seen myself as such until recently. Ever have those times when you get all dolled up for a night out and you really think you're smokin. Then out comes a camera and there you are...only you don't look as hot as you feel. Happens to me all the time. My eyes look squinty, the chins are creating a collar on my neck , and all the emotions of guilt, shame and anger at myself come tumbleing into play. Some people have coined the phrase "Skinny-Fat"- that's me ok.
How did I let myself get to this point.
Well this is it for me. I'm married to a man who works out 6 days a week and looks better 15 years later than the day I first met him. He can't say that about me. I want to make him proud and be that hot girlfriend again. So here's the deal.
I'm throwing a challange out there for anyone who wants to lose 20lbs between now and August 31st.
We would weigh in each Friday and log the following.
Age
Starting weight
Currant weight
Goal weight
Days/minutes of exercise
What do you say????
Who's ready to put your butts into high gear and be shredded for Summer?
Let's do this
Cheers!

I'm in! Starting this Friday? I'm going to be away working at a summer camp so I hope I have access to doing my measurements and weight since I will be living there! I will try my damnedest! If nothing else I will stash a tape in my car and take my measurements!0

You can count me in. It sounds like just the challenge for me.0

Ooooh count me in!!! My long lost love and I have reconnected and he lives in Canada (I'm in MN) and we are hopefully seeing each other sometime this fall and I have to lose this weight!! I totally understand what you mean about feeling so great and then you see the pictures from the night and I'm just disgusted and in complete disbelief/shock!!
I just started the 30 Day Shred (I'm on day 6) and can't wait for the results after the full 30 days - let's do this!0 -
Count me in!!! I am defenitly up for it!!!0

I've tried this weight loss thing and given up so many times it's ridiculous so I'm in
need someone to kick me when I'm about to give up for the hundredth time and decide that I'm just doomed to be fat. Just a couple months ago I weighed 147, my lowest ever, I was in great shape playing soccer and running 5 days a week. Since I've given up exercise and started eating everything in site I've gained about 25 lbs. Ugh. And I totally understand your comment about pictures, I can go out feeling like I look amazing and then I see how fat I really look in pictures and it's completely depressing!

I'm in!! I did weight watchers 5 years ago and lost 60 pounds. I kept that off for three years but over the last two years I gained 20 of it back. I have been doing weight watchers again for several months and NOTHING was happening...turns out weight watchers wasn't giving me enough calories and my body thought it was starving! I just started using this site a few weeks ago and by adding calories and eating MORE i'm starting to lose again! WOOHOO!!
I think this challenge is a great motivator! THANKS!0 -
I would love to be a part of this!
My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, so if that happens, obviously things will change for me. But until then...lets do this!

ALRIGHT!!!
I'm soooo pumped up by the response. Looks like we have about 18 on our all star team, just perfect to get the games underway.
So I was thinking of a way that we would have to be accountable to ourselves (and eachother) without feeling the pressure to post every single day- thus the weigh in and post we HAVE to do each and every Friday. That sounds ok to everyone right??
You only need to log days/minutes of exercise on Friday- that way you can really see how much progress you've made or the need to push yourself for the following week.
If you log your workouts in the Exercise tab, it calculates all the time and calories for you and is then easy to retrieve Friday.
Believe me- I don't want to be the one with 2 workouts logged as I can already feel that you guys are tough and ready to kick some honey buns.
The workouts count for this week ( week begins Sun and ends Sat) so make sure to log this Friday.
Ok...think that's it.
Of course this thread is also to lend support to each other and to be the voices of "GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND INTO THE GYM" when you think you just want to throw in the towel. That's not going to happen with us.
We can so do this - together!
