Hello!!
I am sending this msg to those who have the 30 day shred!!
I need an accountability partner! I seem to do it for 4 days on then 2 days off.....I feel like I should "re-start" but was wondering if anyone would like to join? Or start a 30 day session with me?!

I'd love to join! I've had the DVD for awhile now but haven't started it yet. I need an accountability partner also so I can actually get the DVD started! hehe

I would love to join the group! I did the 30 day shred for a few weeks when I first got it but I have been lazy! I need some motivation!! I love the DVD's, after the second week I could tell a difference in my strength.:happy:0

Maybe we can do check-in on whatever day of the week we start - so if we start on Monday, our check-in can be the next Monday and so on?? What should we include in our check-in as far as progress goes? Progress on the DVD? Weight lost? Inches lost?

Dunno, we can kinda just check in on the days we do it and set a personal goals. Hmm, inches .. I need a measuring tape, lol.

30 Day Shred is a workout DVD from Jillian Michaels (one of the trainers from the Biggest Loser). I've heard it's hard but a really great workout with great results! She mixes strength training and cardio. You can find it in most stores like Target or Wal-Mart, but I ordered mine off of Amazon because the price was much better. You may be able to rent it from the library, netflix, or a video store too!

hahaha I totally talk to her when im having a hard time.....towards the end of workout 1 and she says "hold on" I told her " Ill SHOW YOU what to hold on to" hahahaha0

it was $9.99 at Wal mart....and the work out is usually 3 minutes of Cardio, 2 minutes of weights, 1 minute of abs...over and over for about 22 minutes
I dont want to join the group that already started because I think a JUN 1 start would be GREAT (even tho ive been doing it for a week....ill call it a "warm up" week lol)
as for check ins....I AGREE with MONDAYS......maybe to start the first monday have measurements...and then Measure again half way so MONDAY the 15th then maybe just our weight and how we are doing on every Monday???
What do you guys think about that?? I think we should think up of a "shredding" name for our group too :flowerforyou:0 -
OH YES I also forgot to mention...I plan on only taking ONE day off a week because I think that is what Jillian recommends on the DVD!

I have heard this is really intense but will do wonders. I think that you can also watch it on utube...that is if you have enough room to do it in front of your computer. Would love to try it out.0

Ok, I just gave the first workout a test run and wow, great workout! It didn't burn as many calories as I normally do but I know I'll be feeling it later today and tomorrow. I think my 3 lb weights might be a little too heavy for those circut workouts, hehe ... I guess I'll find out tomorrow morning.
So 6 days a week? I might be able to squeeze 5 but I'm doing this with P90X so no promises there, hehe; don't want to overtrain.

I attempted P90X and accountability was my problem as well.....after my first week I did ok but when I did the yoga I was horrible at it.
When I do the shred my heart rate monitor indicates usualy between 230-250 Cals for 22ish min. I also go to the gym 5 days a week with my man and usualy do about 80 minutes of just cardio.....I use the shred as my wight training as I use 5Ibs dumb bells and have a hard time doing all the reps!!

I'm doing the doubles schedule with P90X so this is going to replace Cardio X for me ... been doing it 3x per week for the past month for Phase 2 and I can't imagine another month of the same thing 4x per week in Phase 3, hehe. So the 3 lbs weights will work fine; I use the 5's for my heavier resistance training. At least my twitching arm says I should stay at 3 lbs :laugh:.
The calorie burn was just shy of 200 so I should be able to bump that up over the next few weeks. I'll go for 4x next week since it's recovery week and then start to aim for 5x after that.
Though I must say, I can't imagine picking this up without any of my P90X training. So kudos for those of you who pick it up and stick with it without any other fitness programs under your belt! :flowerforyou:0 -

so far we are looking at a Monday JUNE 1 start....... I havnt gotten any feedback regarding measuring the first Monday (June 1) then Monday June 15th, and then on our last day.....and then maybe our weight and any concerns/motivation every Monday???
