Good Morning!!!! I know what you mean about falling off the wagon on the weekends... I'm the same way.... I'm away from the computer so I don't really log my food and don't exercise much on the weekends since I go to the gym everyday during the week..... I am trying to work on eating better on the weekends.... shockingly, this weekend was THAT bad for me!!!! Good luck this week!! Hopefully, we will all make progress this week!!!!!

I need to get back on track... a weekend in the wilderness did me in :blushing:

anna, shannan & sukie WELCOME  ... basically we will be checking in each thursday (weigh in) and for the rest of the week the thread will serve as a support group...

everyone else... what did you do this weekend? / do you (as I do) tend to 'fall off the wagon' on the weekend / if not... how do you keep on track???

 Well I spent the weekend enjoying the foods that I am now seriously curtailing  !

A bit about me, last year I lost 30lbs with WW Online but then I gained it all back and some of course! I have spent most of my adult life on a diet which is pretty sad and I'm finally sick of all the ups and downs. This year I had a treatment on my thyorid that now means I am hypo and gaining weight, so I have to get a grip on it now, before it's totally out of hand!

I am sure this group will be a big help to me.

    Morning All,

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!(sounds like a couple really enjoyed their weekend:tongue: ) I definitely know how that goes. Well back on the healthy train for us, huh?? I know how hard it can be to keep your little splurges to a minimum...it is definitely important to treat yourself, but just knowing when to stop can be a huge challenge!

I'm excited and can't wait to get to know all of you new friends!! 4chsmu1.gif

So of course this weekend was a little too much fun for my diet :drinker:

but hopefully I can get back on track this week and maybe even make it to the gym... since it is pouring rain here with no signs of stopping.

Looking forward to officially starting this new challenge!

Hello lovely people! So glad so many people are here! :flowerforyou:

It was a beautiful weekend so I was able to exercise outside, and to my surprise, actually stayed on track this weekend! Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up for the rest of the week! Went to Whole Foods and Trader Joes to stock up on healthy snacks. Snacks are my weakness, and I'm pretty sure I could live on chips and dip for the rest of my life and be happy... until I stepped on the scale that is! :ohwell: Well veggies and hummus will have to do!

Look forward to getting to know all of you!

it POURED rain this weekend so I couldn't get out for my walks (Curves is closed on sunday and closes before I finish my chores on Saturday). I have a small trampoline I got on for 45 minutes on saturday, but then sat on my patootie and read books/watched tv after church.

To get back on track this morning, I found myself looking up healthy recipies on cooking light and planning the meals for this week. It seems to help get my brain going in the right direction.

Anybody have suggestions for rainy-day workouts? I don't have the Fit for my Wii and I'm not a real big fan of following along with dvd's.

    Thanks guys!

I don't know if you like to dance or listen to upbeat music....but just poppin' in a cd or your favorite upbeat/fast music and dance the night away!!! dancegirl2.gif

You kinda feel silly but it is a blast. My daughter and I do it and we always end up in giggle fits (which is definitely good for the tummy)!25r30wi.gif

    Hello all

My weekend wasn't the worst ever but definately not my best either. We always seem to have some sort of family gatherings on the weekends and it is tough to stay on track. :ohwell: I have started trying to bring my own healthy stuff with me to snack on so I don't overdue it on the not so healthy stuff. Hopefully if I can kick it into gear this week and stay on track maybe I will see results on Thursday and keep motivated.
I don't know if anyone else has kids but I am definately looking forward to school ending! That will free up so much time!

I am the same way. Weekends are my downfall. I do great tracking and eating healthy all week, then the weekend comes and it seems I forget how to do these things. But, I guess it is better than being bad all the time.
  • weekends seem to be a common problem  in this group (I think I may be the biggest offender) so before next weekend we should set up some simple "rules" for ourselves to help keep us focus... and stay motivated... (anyone with "weekend problems" jump in... ideas / tips / trick... whatever...)

   WEEKEND GOALS:heart::heart:
    1) I WILL NOT EAT FAST FOOD (ie. Big Macs  / Pizza) ... I don't believe in depriving myself of things but I would like to see if I could make it through a week / weekend with out fast food... because once I start it has a snowball effect and it would be nice to know I don't need that junk to have fun with my friends...

    2) I will MOVE everyday (notice I did not say exercise... ... because that might be too much for me on a lazy sunday  ... just getting out for a hike or jog with the dog... everyday would be good)

    3) WATER!!!!! (I never drink enough water on the weekend... which is probably why I always feel hungry.... so staying hydrated is another must for the weekend)....

    more later...

 Also... feel free to update your stats on the Master List anytime... all you have to do is copy it into your reply window, edit and post! just be sure to get the newest one. :flowerforyou: Thanks ladies!!!!

    Have a healthy. happy day.

  • Hello everyone!! I am super excited for this challenge. On the weekends I have usually do not over indulge. My husband and I make it a point to eat at home before we go any place on the weekends. If I don't then I will want to stop and eat at EVERY fast food place that we pass! It has really helped settle my cravings along with drinking a lot of water. Recently one of my fitness goals has been to burn 3500 calories a week. This past week was my 3rd in a row that I have accomplished it  ! I always feel that I will be less likely to "cheat" if I think about how much I have worked out and to throw it all away in one meal is not a good feeling. But don't get me wrong....I like to have a nice greasy burger and fries....on occassion! I hope everyone has a great week

    good morning all,
wow, we are all on the same page with the weekends. I made it through my first weekend without fastfood or a cheat meal..... I also walked/jogged 20 miles last week, so I am hoping to do it again this week. although with all of that said,

    I lost nothing. :explode: :grumble: :angry: :frown: :cry: {it has been 10weeks with only a 3lb loss.}

I am going to give something drastic a try. my personal trainer read a new article and I am going try it for this week and see if it works. I'm going to eat only 700 cals today, and no excersice cals either' then do my regular 1200 & exercise on Tues. and try to alternate that for 1 week. she says it might shock my system into letting go, but not enough to put me into "starvation mode" although something tells my I'll be feeling like I'm starving. I will try to do this experiment and see how it works. I'll try to let you all know how it goes.
  • Hi everyone!! It is a beautiful morning around here (southern nj) and I just got back from a vendor appointment so I was super happy (I won this Videography package, worth $1800!!!) But then I remembered that when I got on the scale this morning I was horrified!!! I GAINED 3 pounds since this past Wednesday???? I don't understand, I have been really dieting since April, and losing slowly but steady, but still not fast enough, the wedding is in like 5 months. So this past week, since I found this site, I really began ramping up my exercise routine, and even eating better because now I was keeping serious track of everything. I didn't go overboard this weekend and I have eaten plenty of calories. So how did I gain 3 pounds???
  • Ok, so I got on the scale again this morning, and now it is back down those 3 plus 2, I just don't get it...

I'm sooo frustrated..... I haven't lost anything in what seems like forever!! So, last night I took my measurements for the first time in a month and they didn't go down either.. in fact some of them went up a tiny bit, but that could just be that I measured in a different place.... I'm so frustrated... I go to the gym everyday and bust my butt and NOTHING!!

Whenever I read on this site about someone reaching a standstill, the advice usually given is to "confuse" or "shock" your calories (I think that is what they keep calling it) basically to switch up your calories. Like 1 day don't exercise and only eat like 1000 calories, then the next day exercise and eat ALL of those calories and then a little more (no one ever says to go up more then between 50 or 100)
It is definitely something I am considering for when I reach my standstill.
I hope I got this method correct, if anyone else knows any better, please chime in

Thanks!! I am definitely going to have to try something drastic b/c what I'm doing is not working anymore..... I thought that I would hit a plateau until I got closer to my goal weight.... I still have a longggg way to go!! I have gotten good at maintaining though.. lol.

    Morning ladies,

Well I had a very good first day, stayed within my target and really wasn't hungry, got all my water in :drinker: but didn't exercise. Today is my last 'proper' day at work until July 22, I am a school secretary and so it should get easier to exercise now and stay on track.

    Have a good day

okiegal - i can relate! I also work in a school (college) and i notice how in the spring semester (the busiest one) my waistline just goes phhhbt! Hopefully I'll be at my goal weight next year and will be better able to maintain.

Hope you have a good summer break!
