Just wondering, how long does it usually take for you to lose 10 pounds? Weeks? Months? What's normal/healthy?

I dropped 10 in about the first week and a half. Of course, I started at 310. Judging by your pic, it will take a couple of months, or at least in my opinion, you should take a couple of months at least to lose 10 pounds. Easy does it.0

It really depends on where you are at in the WL journey. It took four months last year at one point to lose 10 lbs (4/11-8/11). Also, one month i lost 10 lbs (oct 2011). It is so subjective.
Also the rate of a 10lb month is TOO high for what my body can handle.
2012 goal is to lose a lb a week so ten weeks and trying hard.0 -
For me prob. about a month plus...I think it all depends on how much you have to loose as a whole. I lost much faster when I first started my journey, but now these last 12lbs. don't want to go anywhere0

I have been at this 7 weeks so far and lost 6lbs. Everyone is different and it depends on the amount of exercise you do and the amount of weight you have to lose. I do about 30 minutes a day of exercise so if you are better than that (which isn't hard to be lol) you could probably do it in 5 or 6 weeks.0

It can take me a month or two to lose 10 pounds. I lose it much slower now than I did at the beginning. But for me it doesn't matter how long it takes, as long as I keep losing over time then I'm not bothered. I don't set myself time goals, I'm just in this for the long haul0

I dropped 10 pounds in a month. I am losing my weight all natural with no magic pills or weightloss gimmicks! Just hard work and motivation.0

Twenty-two days. I've been doing this since the first, and I'm down 10lbs from when I started. However, I dropped 5 overnight (water weight) right in the beginning. I also started at 220, and I'm only 5'1", so I have quite a bit to lose.0

I started at 190.2 on Jan 2nd and as of my weigh in today I am down to 180.7.... so it took me almost 3 weeks. I'm usually on point with my calorie intake but I'm sure I could exercise more!!! Hope this helps.0

I lost 10 pounds in 1 1/2 months, then have only lost 8 since last year, but I'm pretty much at my goal weight. It depends where you start.0

For me 9.2lbs in 11 days...hopefully 10lbs in the next 2 days...but it varies from person to person...don't get discouraged if yours isn't as quick! Just do it the healthy way! :happy:0

I weighes 205 when I started and It took me a month and 2 weeks to lose my first 10 pounds. I lost about 2 pounds a week on average. Once I dropped my first 10 I plateaued for a week and it took me from mid December until now to lose another 10lbs. So about a month and a half each time. I started at 1200 calories and ate back exercise calories, and now I upped it to 1600 calories a day and I eat back most of my exercise calories. I am also working out more now then I was back then so I really need the extra calories now!0

3 months. A nice steady rate that my doctor approved of.0

I joined around the 7th and I've lost 9 lbs. It all depends on the person. I'm working out an hour a day six days a week and eating back the calories I burn. I don't expect the weight to drop like it did at first but I'm sticking with it0
-
When I started my weight loss journey I lost the first 10 in a month, now that I am at the middle of my journey and really focusing on building muscle, i lose a 1lb a week, so it's going to take me 10 weeks to lose ten pounds at this rate. But I would rather lose weight slow and look healthy, then fast and look sick!0
-
hmm 30 in 1 week so...divide that by 7 carry the 3...... 2½ days? but I'm guy and I was nearly 500 lbs.0
-
I lost 10.4lbs in 3 weeks! But everyone is different! Good luck!

Just wondering, how long does it usually take for you to lose 10 pounds? Weeks? Months? What's normal/healthy?
depends on how much you have to lose, if you only have 10lbs to lose it should take about 20 weeks as the appropriate weekly weight loss goal would be 0.5lbs/week. this would also help ensure that more of your loss is from fat, if your deficit is too large then a lot of the weight loss will come from lean muscle.0 -
It took me a month and a half to drop 10 lbs, now i am waiting to see how long it will take me to lose another 10. For woman it is harder to lose it than Men.0

When I first started at 154 it only took about a month to lost the first 10 but now that I'm 121 and working on the last 10 it's taking months! I think it all depends on how close you are to what your body considers a normal weight. It was like the moment I crossed over from 133 to 132 which is the cut off for overweight vs normal it started getting significantly harder to lose.0
-
It took me 2 weeks when I started, and now it's taken about a month for the latest 10 to come off.
Everybody is different, and the closer you are to your goal, the slower the weight will come off. Those who are morbidly obese will drop weight very quickly at first.0 -
As others have said, depends on how you're starting out and how aggressive you are with it. I started at about 130-135 and lost it probably 2 months or less, exercising about 5 times a week (walking/jogging, going to the gym to do weights/elliptical). It's harder for small people to lose weight because you're smaller and so you're not burning as many calories.
Just keep at it, and don't forget to look at your measurements. Sometimes the scale doesn't move, but you can see differences in your body. Muscle weighs more than fat, remember that0 -
I had 30 pounds to lose total and it took me about 6 weeks to lose 10. My losses were more rapid in the beginning of my weight loss than at the end.0
-
I (slowly) started to count calories / do more exercise at the beginning of October, and have since lost 10 lbs.
So about 3 1/2 months for me, which is quite slow in comparison to some of the numbers here, but I only have a total of 20 lbs to lose to reach my target weight, so I'm very happy with these results.0
