If it's clearly not true, why would we want to look at additional sources that provide not-true info?

"Negative calorie foods do get a lot of negative publicity and the main reason for this is that many people believe that the amount of calories that the body will use to process and digest a food is rather small. For instance something that requires a lot of effort to chew and that is already very low in calories may be regarded as a negative calorie food, however if the body really does not use up many calories for this then is the effect something that is really worth taking into consideration? This is not helped by people thinking that by eating loads of items on the above negative calories food list they will start to just drop weight because they are never going to add calories because the negative numbers are going to take care of a lot of calories taken in from other sources, this is not the case it is only going to make a slight difference at best and that is more of a common sense view than a sceptical approach.

Whether you have faith in negative calorie foods or not, the items that are found on the negative calorie food list will provide your body with a whole range of benefits and are encouraged in almost every diet that you will come across. By consuming them you are going to be going some way to aiding to increase your metabolism and taking on much needed protein that helps the maintenance and growth of the cells in your body."

Whilst there is no such thing as a negative calorie food it seems undoubtedly clear that if you incorporate the foods included in the OP you will be able to eat a greater volume of food for less calories than say processed stuff. This will help with satiety, lessen feelings of deprivation, and make it less likely you will overeat.

I doubt anyone got fat in a real world situation because they ate too much celery...

It is true. The foods burn themselves through digestion so the calories don't really sink in. Ipso-facto neg cal.

even if this were true your caloric burn (maintenance calories) already includes digestion, so you have to count these cals in regardless if they really are "negative calorie" or not.

The only "free" food is the food handed out at Sam's Club.

Calories are calories. 7 calories of celery and 7 calories of beef are still 7 calories.

Now, we could talk all day about nutrients. But a calorie is a calorie .... and 3500 = a pound.
