I FINALLY made the cowboy burgers last night from last weeks recipes. I LOVED them. I did tweak them but they were fantastic! I used:
1lb ground venison (deer meat)
tsp chili powder
dash of garlic powder
coarse black pepper I used about 2 tsp
salt to your taste
2Tbs Kraft smokey bbq sauce
1/4 C sargento's mexican 4 cheese shredded cheese
1/4 C plain bread crumbs
I added fresh slices of onion and lettuce after it was finished and served it open faced for me and the calorie count was around 265 per person and it made 4 burgers. We loved it and I think we will be making it again and again.
I wonder if it would work with ground turkey or maybe even bison?
I would think so. I love turkey burgers I bet it would be great0 -

It's Thursday morning and we have no second recipe. Because of this, I'm opening it up. First person to post a recipe gets to have that recipe be the one we share for the week!0

1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 15-oz can fire roasted diced tomatoes
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp paprika
2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 12-oz can tomato paste
2 cups vegetable broth
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 15-oz cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 15-oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 15-oz can white beans, drained and rinsed
2 cups frozen corn
Directions
1. In a large pot heat the olive oil. Add onion and garlic. Saute until the onion is translucent.
2. Add the fire roasted tomatoes and their liquid, the pepper, salt, chili powder, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Let simmer for 5 minutes and then add the tomato paste, vegetable broth, and peanut butter. Stir until the tomato paste and the peanut butter are well incorporated. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
3. Reduce the heat and add all of the beans and the corn. Simmer for 20 minutes.

Hi all I have a quick & easy crockpot recipe. You will need:
5 or 6 defrosted chicken breasts
Low sodium taco seasoning
3-16oz pace picante mild salsa
Season each chicken breast with taco seasoning to your taste and place on the bottom of
the crock pot. Top with salsa. 2-16oz would probably be enough but I like
It with plenty of sauce. Cook on high 3-4 hours or on low setting 7-9 hours.
Eat with tacos, tortillas, rice or anything you can come up with. Hope you enjoy
It. Its about 140 calories the serving, it varies with the brands you buy.
Added Black beans had on fiber one tortillas and of course added Jalapenos! It was so good! thank you for the idea.0 -
This sounds really good. We have peanut allergies in the family. Do you think Cashew Butter would work?
On another note, I tried the Burrito Bake from week 16, I think, it's AMAZING!!0 -
