What I did to get to that point was simple. The first year I just focussed on loosing the weight. Treadmill and healthy food choices. Once I decided to lift weights I started to Eat 6 healthy meals a day and workout in the gym every day except Sunday. I didn't need to put in long hours of working out either. My cardio consisted of 20 Min. Intraval training 3 days a week and the rest was weight lifting. Different body parts 4 days a week. I must say the muscle was built over 3 years time. but what else did I have to do? I just kept going to the gym, living my healthy life. Good luck in your journey.0

Of coarse this is a real story! Why would you say that? I have my transition pictures to prove it. I am on MFP to motivate others and to stay motivated myself. I still work out in the gym and eat right and track my foods when I feel like I need to. I currently want to loose 5 pounds. Not much, but if I don't stay on top of it, I will be right back at 250 lbs. Also my children are obsese and I need to stay focussed for them.0

Stay focussed, set goals, keep going no matter what. Surround yourself with people who have similar goals. I am not saying I never had bad days, I did, but I just kept going. Taking the pictures was very helpful to me. To this day I still carry my photos in my wallet as a reminder and to keep me focussed. I never want to slip back to that place.
Also when I was training I hung out on a board for support. It was the single best thing I did. We posted daily workouts and food choices. I formed a lasting relationship with many of those people. Sad to say that board closed down and now I am here for support and motivation.0 -
Damn girl! You look amazing!
I have been lifting and doing cardio for over a year now. I keep dreaming that your physique is what's inside this chunk of rock that is my physique, and someday I will chip away enough for it to be seen.

I just knew it was possible for 50 year old women to look this good. It is what I aspire to. Recovering from surgery to repair fractured patella but before that threw a kink in things I was doing strength training. Just not enough. Your pictures have proved to me I need more dedication, Swimming most days now to gain back my strength and looking forward to doing squats ASAP. Thank you for sharing!!!0
