Considering what she eats, I would have expected her to have significant weight issues.

I read that article last week (I think it was).

Just because she 'lives' off chicken nuggets wouldn't guarantee a weight problem - definitely guarantees a health problem though (as shown). UK Maccy-Ds nutritional info on the website states 250kcals for a portion of 6 nuggets. So 40 Kcals (give or take) per nugget. Even if she ate 40 chicken nuggets to herself, spread over the day, we're only talking 1600kcal. If she eats less than 40 nuggets a day with the occasional fries/crisps/slice of toast she's still likely to be taking in 2000kcals or less.

    No weight problem there.

McNuggets were my food of choice if we ever ate in Maccy-D's when I was a kid (once in a blue moon) - in the UK they're probably one of the healthiest options what with being 100% breast meat etc etc. Haven't had anything from there for donkeys years though.

the thing is I dont think she ate enough of them to gain any real weight...

"Stacey’s mother, Evonne, is exasperated by her daughter’s refusal to eat a healthy and varied diet and wants her to see a specialist."

Prehaps if her mother was stricter with her when she was two, this poor girl wouldn't be in this dietrary mess!

Wa thinking exactly this - a 2 year will eat eventually if they are hungry. They soon learn that they get what they want though if you cave in every time.

I read that the other day. I have no issues with McDonald's being a treat once in a while for my kids but every day for 15 years? That's absurd and the parents should be shot.

i agree as a treat - but i dont think there is any need to treat a 2yr old to it. But saying that if you go to Macdonalds yourself then you are more likely to introduce your child at a younger age - i go maybe once a year if that! (i do love it though!) My baby is more likely to be introduced to a starbucks tuna melt panini and muffin then a maccdy ds - which i cant imagine is much healthier lol!

I have Celiac's and McD's (as well as Burger King and In 'N Out) is one of the few places I can go on the road where I know that I'm going to get a relatively gluten free meal. So both my kids have had fast food, they're 20 months and 4

thats what i meant by my previous post - is some people will go to macdonalds so their kids get to try food like that - some of us will never eat out at all, and others of us spend every waking moment in a coffee shop (me!) so therefore Elijah will probably be having a panini very soon (he has just turned one) Neither is healthier then the other so guess it just depends on what you do - so i was wrong to say why take a 2yr old to maccy ds... as i do the same - but in different restauratns! Does any of that make sense???

Makes total sense. I love panini. Can't eat it but love it LOL There's this little coffee shop near my house that makes a bomb mozzarella, tomato panini w/ basil mayo. OMG, heaven!

Amen to that! Part of the role of a mother is to make sure that the kids are getting the nutrition they need. I am pretty sure McNuggets do not qualify...

Again, here we have a dullard not eating right from a negligent family, and people want to blame McD?
    Her parents are just pathetic.
And don't tell me kids won't eat what you make.
I have 5 kids, and trust me, they'll eat ANYTHING I make.
    Why?
    Because the alternative is NOTHING!
We've become such a nation of wussies.....

For once, you and I agree on something. My son is extraordinarily picky. But damn straight he'll eat what I make if he's hungry enough. I'm not a short order cook or a delivery driver.
