Considering what she eats, I would have expected her to have significant weight issues.

:noway: So Sad...
I pray a nutritionist takes her under their wing :frown:0 -
Wow, this is really bad...I dont even think the chicken nuggets at mcdonalds are that good to eat them everyday like that..I hope she changes the way she eats..SMH..And this is why when I have kids they wont be eating McDonalds like that..0

I read that article last week (I think it was).
Just because she 'lives' off chicken nuggets wouldn't guarantee a weight problem - definitely guarantees a health problem though (as shown). UK Maccy-Ds nutritional info on the website states 250kcals for a portion of 6 nuggets. So 40 Kcals (give or take) per nugget. Even if she ate 40 chicken nuggets to herself, spread over the day, we're only talking 1600kcal. If she eats less than 40 nuggets a day with the occasional fries/crisps/slice of toast she's still likely to be taking in 2000kcals or less.
No weight problem there.
McNuggets were my food of choice if we ever ate in Maccy-D's when I was a kid (once in a blue moon) - in the UK they're probably one of the healthiest options what with being 100% breast meat etc etc. Haven't had anything from there for donkeys years though.0 -
the thing is I dont think she ate enough of them to gain any real weight...
"Stacey’s mother, Evonne, is exasperated by her daughter’s refusal to eat a healthy and varied diet and wants her to see a specialist."
Prehaps if her mother was stricter with her when she was two, this poor girl wouldn't be in this dietrary mess!0 -
all that this is done is make me crave some nuggets and chips!0

Haha, that was me after watching Super Size Me! All my classmates were repulsed and I felt terrible for thinking about how much I wanted some fries0 -
yeah on supersize v superskinny, all i wanted was to live a day in the obese persons shoes so i could eat all the pasties, sausage rolls and fast food lol!0

Wa thinking exactly this - a 2 year will eat eventually if they are hungry. They soon learn that they get what they want though if you cave in every time.0 -
and also what was she doing taking her kid to maccy ds at 2 years old?! There is no need.0
-
I read that the other day. I have no issues with McDonald's being a treat once in a while for my kids but every day for 15 years? That's absurd and the parents should be shot.0

i agree as a treat - but i dont think there is any need to treat a 2yr old to it. But saying that if you go to Macdonalds yourself then you are more likely to introduce your child at a younger age - i go maybe once a year if that! (i do love it though!) My baby is more likely to be introduced to a starbucks tuna melt panini and muffin then a maccdy ds - which i cant imagine is much healthier lol!0 -

I have Celiac's and McD's (as well as Burger King and In 'N Out) is one of the few places I can go on the road where I know that I'm going to get a relatively gluten free meal. So both my kids have had fast food, they're 20 months and 4 :laugh:0 -
She should be on "Freaky Eaters"!0

thats what i meant by my previous post - is some people will go to macdonalds so their kids get to try food like that - some of us will never eat out at all, and others of us spend every waking moment in a coffee shop (me!) so therefore Elijah will probably be having a panini very soon (he has just turned one) Neither is healthier then the other so guess it just depends on what you do - so i was wrong to say why take a 2yr old to maccy ds... as i do the same - but in different restauratns! Does any of that make sense???0 -
Such a shame, she is such an attractive young lady as well. What a waste.0

Makes total sense. I love panini. Can't eat it but love it LOL There's this little coffee shop near my house that makes a bomb mozzarella, tomato panini w/ basil mayo. OMG, heaven!0 -

Amen to that! Part of the role of a mother is to make sure that the kids are getting the nutrition they need. I am pretty sure McNuggets do not qualify...0 -
Again, here we have a dullard not eating right from a negligent family, and people want to blame McD?
Her parents are just pathetic.
And don't tell me kids won't eat what you make.
I have 5 kids, and trust me, they'll eat ANYTHING I make.
Why?
Because the alternative is NOTHING!
We've become such a nation of wussies.....0 -

For once, you and I agree on something. My son is extraordinarily picky. But damn straight he'll eat what I make if he's hungry enough. I'm not a short order cook or a delivery driver.0 -

THIS - well, maybe not shot but just horse whipped in the town square0 -
Surely eating the same type of any food for 15years wouldn't do you much good I once saw a man on tv who only ate cheese and crisps he was in pretty poor health too.
As for letting a two year old eat nothing but nuggets there is definatly something wrong there. I have 3kids 7, 3 and 14months and yes they have been to maccy ds on the odd occasion (youngest just gets a fruit bag and maybe some bread off my ohs burger). But there is no way they would eat there everyday as much as my oldest would love it!0 -
they have some show on TLC about people who have weird food obsessions... there was one I saw where this lady ate ONLY popsicles (one specific kind) for 15 years. she, unlike this McDonald's girl, actually WAS obese though (and crazy?).
I take it it's more of a psychological disturbance than just pickiness though. how could it be "normal" to only want one thing?? I ate a hard boiled egg for lunch every day of my elementary school years and I'm STILL sick of them.0 -
I agree that she mother should have put her foot down when she was 2 but by the same token this kid seems proud of her addiction and at 17 should know better herself by now. If the hospitalisation doesn't wake her up then it's her own fault if she ends up in a worse situation.0

This story makes no sense at all. So your telling me since age 2 who parents couldn't control what she ate? Also how isn't she 1000 lbs.?0

Funny because I was thinking this too!0 -
Have you guys seen the email about the McNuggets? Nasty....

I thought I was the only adult on the planet who admitted to liking McDonald's. : ) When my boys were little, it was a great place to take them to run off some steam in the winter when it was too cold to play outside. So they would have their 4 chicken nuggets and their small fries, and then spend hours playing on the playland while I caught up with friends. None of my boys have weight issues and they all eat what's put in front of them. I think you just need to have some amount of sense about these things. And yes, that girl's problem is her parents and of course it isn't McDonald's fault!0

It comes down to this:
Its totally the moms fault for letting her daughter dictate what she would and would not eat. I don't have kids but if I did, they certainly would not be picking out their own foods at 2 years old. Basically "Sit at the table until you eat your green beans" type thing. Now that's shes older, its becoming her responsibly. I would feel slighted by my mom honestly.
McDonald's is just... gross. So are the chicken nuggets from the store. I cant imagine eating that crap, even a couple times a year. Maybe we should suggest that she watches Food Inc. That's what did it for me years ago and the thought of that food makes me sick to my stomach.0 -

Everyone should watch Food Inc.
And right after I posted about the MSM that McDonalds uses it looks like they have claimed to quit using it lol. Doesn't change my opinion of their food though :P
