I am 5'7 and I am only 5 days in. I am at 186.5 right now (probally less but I only weigh myself once a week) and my goal is 140. I am hoping to hit this by the end of July. I am getting married August 11 and want to be at my goal weight for my final fitting! And I want to wear a bikini without shame on my honeymoon! Any pointers are appreciated!0

I am 5'7 as well.
I started using MFP at 228 pounds.
I am now at 163 pounds, looking to get down to 150 - 140 depending on how I feel : )

I'm 5'7.5" with an hourglass figure. My goal is 133. Almost there, but I need to tighten things up!0

Im 5'6 and weight 136. My goal weight is 126 but its hard to maintain, I was their about a year ago and want to get back to it. I was told by some that I did not look healthy though, so be prepared if you lose too much weight. I am best at maintaining at around 130-133. I also look healthy. As long as I maintain my tone I am good at 130. Im a size 2-4 and wear a small or x-small top typically. At the moment I do have a little lower belly pooch that I hate, I have had it forever and even a little at my thinnest, I am beginning to think that it is a genetic curse.

Don't give up....you can get there. I am 5'7..started out at 142.2 and I am now 127.8. YOU CAN DO IT !!! That 130 mark is hard, but the joy of seeing it is priceless !0

Hola :-) Im 5'7 and a 1/2 lol My heaviest weight was 210 when I gave birth to my son that was three years ago lol I started MFP at 180 and set my goal to 130-+135 however I dont think I will get that low as I have big bones and hold my weight extremly well. I have 9 lbs to lose to hit the top of the healthy BMI scale and than I will re evaluta my goal weight. As of today I weigh 168 which is the lowest I have been since before baby!! I'm a 5'7, 63 year old and my starting weight was 211.
I've only been on for approx. 2 and 1/2 weeks and have lost 6 pounds. I have a long way to go as my goal is to be in the 140/155 range (Less would be good but I'm trying to be realistic here).

I am 5"7 and about 134 pounds.. (I am a UK size 8 / US size 6).
When i first originally joined my fitness pal i was about 105 pounds, but at that time i was also UK size 8 / US size 6.. which is strange.. but either way.
My goal then was to get to about 100 pounds, whereas now my goal is to get to about 110 pounds and then just tone up, (i think that was my problem before because i didnt have any muscle tone)..
So yeah the amount you said sounds very reasonable.0 -

I'm about 5'7" and I started Jan 3 2012 at 162 and am now 153. Back into my size 29s!! YAY! Anyway, my goal weight is 135 for now but I'm not sure that is going to be a realistic weight for me since I am very muscular - we'll see though. I haven't been 135 since the early 90s so this will be exciting.0

I am 5'7" and 140 is pretty accurate for your height. I am trying to get down to 135, but I am doing this knowing that I'll fluctuate 5 pounds up/down once I get to this weight. It also depends on your body structure, amount of exercise, etc. Good luck with your goal!0

Hi.........I'm 5'7" started at 185 a couple years ago..............lost down to 145 and was very comfortable and slender in a size 8. (I have no hips....lol). I am aiming for 150 this go around and then we will see from there.0

wow...this has made me realize I need to re-evaluate my goals...I was hoping 145-150 would be good....but damn...now maybe my goal should be 130.... I am currently 190/189 wearing a size 14/16 depending on the brand..0

I'm 5"7" and I was at my best when I weighed 135- 140 lbs. I'm 170 now-- goal is 145. I think being realistic I'd be happy at 150 even!0

I think it all depends on your frame and bone/muscle structure. I would look very unhealthy at 130. For me- 140-150 looked healthy, slim but not skinny. I have no desire to be skinny. Healthy is my goal

I'm 5'7 @ 177lbs and size 12 now. I have lost just about 20lbs since Christmas. I have alot of muscle mass, so my first goal is to get to 160lbs and to see how I feel. If I feel I could lose more and still be healthy, I'll try for 150lbs.0

Wow this thread is So helpful! i'm a 5.7 girl, and have struggled with my weight for awhile. Well, actually, the struggle for me has been with my eating habits, and my weight fluctuates accordingly. At my heaviest, I was 162 pounds, I know thats not huge but, unlike some tall girls, I do not carry extra weight very well. I lost all that weight, and at my slimmest I weighed 128 pounds. While I loved that weight, I loved tiny clothes, and skinny arms and legs, I always felt like I could lose another few pounds.I started using mfp after my weight crept back up due to change in lifestyle. I decided, in my head, that 125 lb would be a great weight for me. Now, I dont think so any more. I realise that 125 is probably not a healthy aspiration for a girl my height and shape (boyish). I love reading these comments, thanks to all of you for the motivation!0

For many 5'7" girls...especially fit ones... the 140's- 150's look great! People start literally worrying about me when i get into the 130's or less (i even stop menstrating around 135).
Remember girls... inches & mirrors & fitness levels tell the real story, not scales.0 -
Hi I am 5'7" and fairly big boned. I started at 181 lbs and am currently at 148. I don't have a goal weight yet. I'll see how I look and feel once I hit 140.0

I'm 5'7 1/2 and think it all depends on the person. I think the more muscular/fit you are the more weight you can carry and it looks nice. Before kids I weighed between 115 and 130 lbs. Would like to get pretty close to that range again but on the higher end. I do like to eat and don't want to obsess about food so we'll see.0

Hey, I'm somewhere between 5'7 and 5'8....I currently weigh about 151 and am a size 6, though, so I guess it depends on how your body is built since I see people hoping to be in a size 8 at 140 (which will probably make me a size 4...) My goal is 1380

oh no!!
I am 5'7" and started MFP at 170. I have faithfully put in my food and exercise for 1 month now, but have depressingly only lost 4lbs. I was hoing to lose 20 by mid-March for a trip to go on.
Instead, I am looking at this thread thinking even if I do get to my goal, I'll probably still look fat, because everyone else this height wants to be around the 130-140 mark.
Is it all worth the effort? or should I return to enjoying life and food?0
