Valentines... ladies your input please

This is a lovely gesture, aside from allergy sufferers almost all girls like flowers and to have them presented at work can’t help to make any girl feel special. I’d advise checking with a relative or close friend of hers for her fav type of flowers if you didn’t already know. (For valentines I’d advise light pink roses as they are not so typical.) Oh and the card will seal the deal if you put something personal, something like ‘I can’t wait to see you tonight’ will keep the jealous girls in the office wondering what else you have planned... tee hee!

I'm going to be a party pooper - I hate it, I die of embarrassment and if it's a busy day you can't get on for people who've never bothered speaking to you before coming over to poke at them and enquire into your relationship status (all the while people around you tut and cluck as they're on conference calls and 'you' have made it too noisy! In my circumstances having them bought home or delivered at home is much nicer.
That said - if I worked for a small business it'd be great, so I guess it depends on the circumstances :-)0 -
Should have mentioned - you're OP you're a nice bloke :-)0
-
I'd hate it - would be way too embarrassed.
None of us know your girlfriend though, a lot of girls seem to love it (judging by the answers here)0 -
I would love that, i am actually debating sending myself flowers as i know my other half wont............ yes im that sad
Not sad at all! Just make sure you send a card with something ridiculous on it like--"Thanks for a great weekend! love, Joaquin" or "Love being your pool boy! Marco....."
It will make you smile and make your coworkers think you're a wild and mysterious woman!0 -
I would hate that. None of us know your girlfriend so you're better off asking one of her friends/mum/sister etc instead of asking a bunch a strangers.0

I think its a sweet gesture, my husband use to always do this when I worked out of the home. I don't think there is anything embarassing about getting flowers.0
-
its a great idea, dont know many women who dont like to get flowers..0
-
How about sending the flowers on just a random day rather than a made up holiday that is blown way out of proportion by florists and greeting card companies.
I know I love it when I come home and find flowers for no reason at all except that my husband thought I would like them. Same thing with finding the random bag of candy in the pantry for no special reason.
It means more to me than if I thought he was buying flowers or candy because it's the standard thing to do and he would be considered a crappy husband if he didn't fall prey to the advertisers of silly holidays. :bigsmile:0 -
If you've never done it before do it! At least when she comes home you can about it and make sure she was ok with it...for next time!
ST Vals is also my wedding anniversary!0 -
I'd always get slightly embarrassed when my ex would send me flowers but I LOVED it. Especially when all the other ladies would comment or stop by and look at my flowers.
DO it!0 -
it really depends on how easily she gets embarassed, but I for one would LOVE that!!!!!0
-
Do it, unless you have reason to think anyone at her workplace might be allergic... I know some places have rules, especially about lilies. Just try to make it something she loves, not just a random bouquet of roses with a cookie-cutter card tied on. Me, I like gerbera daisies in bright, fun colors. And if you want to send chocolates, make them something special, not your standard thing. Make your card personal... even better would be if the card was a clue to something special you had planned for the evening, like a printed Google map to a restaurant you've been meaning to try.
A cookie bouquet is fun, too.0 -
I don't think you can EVER go wrong with flowers. I love flowers at work or at home. I use to get them, but not so much any more0

Just in case theres another woman at her office who gets flowers....Do it...
Might be embarrassing for a second, but we girls compare ourselves to other girls constantly, and itll be whats best for you.
;P0 -
I would enjoy it! Unless there is something else you know she has been really wanting that suits the holiday and you can't do both- good luck!0
-
It would probably embarrass her...but its so nice and sweet of you! You should do it!
Just make sure she likes the flowers you sent her (like, maybe she doesnt like red roses...)0 -
absolutely she'll love it.0
-
Personally, I think that is a great idea.0
-
I think that most women would love this, but it really depends on her personality. I would personally feel a little embarrassed but deep down I'd be jumping for joy. If she's super shy/not into grand romantic gestures or PDA she won't like it. But most likely you'll make her day!
[EDIT] I should also note that I used to have a boyfriend who did this, and I loved it. Just be prepared to wow her again, because after this she'll be expecting it!0 -
What woman doesn't LOVE getting flowers at work ???
YES .. she will LOVE it ! Never doubt your passion for a second ... or it will diminish !0 -
ah, no...no embarrassment! Women love to be remembered and roses are a beautiful gesture! I love getting roses from my man on Valentine's Day.0
-
Definitely depends on the girl. I have friends who think its a watse to spend money on flowers....personally I love it, and think its a sweet gesture.0
-
Love it! However, my favorite would be to show up to her work, bring the flowers, and maybe a bag of Hershey's kisses for her co-workers to share, and ask her to lunch.0
-
I would LOVE it. My mother did that for me once when I was single (sent it under some made up man's name)....the gals in the office couldn't stop gossiping about me and I worked in a HORRID secretary pool. It was AWESOME- the look on their faces!
Now happily married 16 years. But she will love it, I am sure ♥0 -
yes, a very good idea...make sure you know what her favourite flower/s are (if you can without giving secret away)...or you cant go wrong with lots of red roses! they need to look amazing if they are to be sent to her workplace...just my opinion :flowerforyou:
Good luck0 -
Personally I'd love that. She might feel a little embarrassed but she'll also feel so special. It's little things like that, that I think mean a lot. Go for it : )0
-
