So it is my son's 5th birthday today and he has requested we go to KFC for supper. Anyone have any suggestions on what is relatively "healthy" and not too "bad" to eat from there?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

As long as you stick to chicken (without skin) vegies and mashed potatoes, you can get dinner for about 500 calories. Not bad..0

i'd probably have that n nothing else. xP0 -

If it helps, they've started putting how many calories in each item on the menu boards.
McDonalds do it now too, haven't eaten one since they started displaying the info, frightened me half to death lol0 -
I only eat the grilled chicken breast/wing (no skin) and sweet kernel corn0

Just be mindful of the loads of sodium you'll get even with what seems like healthy choices from there.
You might consider having a bite to eat of your normal healthy food before going so you won't be as tempted to eat there. But if this is your only splurge for the week, go nuts and make up for it with some extra vigorous workouts the remainder of the week.
Hope your boy has a fabulous birthday!

They have corn on the cob too!0

are you eating it there or brining it home? When my hubby wants KFC we eat it at home and I have a drumstick and make my own vegetables with a large salad.0

1 grilled chicken breast 220cal
green beans 25cal
mased potatoes w gravy 120cal
That is what I always have when I go there.0 -

You eat something before you go! It will help self control tons and if you do eat/snack, you'll be able to keep things under control. The next day, when you're efforts aren't sabotaged, you'll be glad you did!0

That's awesome! :laugh:0 -
Skinless protein and veggies. But watch the sodium.....it's a killer at fast food restaurants, even the "healthy" ones like Subway!~0

Have a look at this! It'll give you all the calories in each menu item. KFC is not as bad as I imagined.

Can't believe your US KFCs sell Mash! Seems totally weird. It's all fries over here.0

On the rare occasion that I eat there it is either grilled chicken or original recipe with skin removed with corn on the cob & green beans.0

Cals aren't too bad at KFC, but remember the food is still packed with other not so pleasant things.
I like a double down once in a while... massive chunk of tasty protein there :happy:0 -
KFC is not as bad as most places.... Grilled Breast is full of Protein and has the least fat there0
-

Have a night off, eat some hot wings.
Sorry, but I love fried chicken, LOVE it.0
