baby names are so hard to choose! that being said, i think bakura rose sounds lovely.
if i had a son, i would name him liam aaron. for a girl, i like too many names... irene, arianne, norah, the list goes on and on :$0 -
Ahhhh if I ever have kids for a son it's going to be something like; Aonghus, Christian, Theodore ;w; I love those names.
As for a girl something like Rose, or Alexis.0 -
Sons name is Ty
Daughters are Ava and Hiwalani
We have a system: For boys, dad picks first and I pick middle and vice versa for girls
If I get another girl her name will be Yva (Eva) or Yve (Eve) cause my name is Yvette.0 -
Someone saying about how kids will hate having an unusual name/change it when they're 18 etc (can't be bothered to find and quote haha). Both me and my sister have "unusual" names, Yolanda and Tamsin. Now in reality Yolanda isn't an uncommon name, admittedly it's normally spelt Yolande because it's a Dutch name, I see nothing wrong with naming your kids in another language if you want to, so long as you know how to pronounce it. Tamsin, is a bit different, mainly because whilst once again it's from another language, it's from a language that hasn't been used for around 3 centuries (It's Cornish/Brythonic Celtic, the language spoken before English in around the Anglo-Saxon times). People have constantly spelt out names wrong, pronounced them wrong, so on so forth, and neither of us are ever bothered by it, we even make jokes like for my sister easiest way to remember it is "Yo Land A(hoy)" generally you tell someone that once they won't forget it. However, we were both given "normal" middle names so if we chose we could use those as our given name, my sister is "Jill" after my Grandmother and I'm "Ellis" (after a Cornish translation writer, not after Elijah (God is Lord) since my parents aren't religious). I think unusual names are lovely so long as a) you can pronounce them and b) they don't sound rude/something kids can pick on you for (and believe me I got a lot of "Tarzan's" yelled at me). And as for Buraku meaning evil spirit, no kid would get bullied over that since no bully would use their brain and google the name to find out what it means.0

QUOTE:
"My Mom always said that when choosing a baby's name you should go outside and yell it at the top of your lungs 50 times. If you are not sick of it by then, go ahead and name it that."
LOL....too funny!!0 -
Caitlin is a good name!0

Hey everyone,
So my financee and i were talking about baby names last night and we both came up with Bakura rose.....What do you all think?!
There are so many beautiful names out there! Bakura is not one of them. Rose in the middle has been done to death.
It seems like everybody's trying so hard to be different that nobody has a normal name. Have the confidence to give your child a beautiful name, whether or not there might be ONe other child in the same town with the same name.
My taste is more like Juliet, Hazel, Clara, Thea, Anya, Phoebe........... so you can now totally dismiss my opinion on the grounds of our different tastes!
names like Tamsin and Yolanda are different from Bakura. They are underused, but still established names. Bakura?0 -
Ive already picked out a girls name if I ever have one (Hadley) lol. But I'm lost for a middle name. I'll probably do Hadley Kay after my mom.0
-
What was it about the name that you liked?
:-)0 -
My girl is called Millie Jane0

That sounded trendy about four years ago. It's 'over' as a trendy name now. The huh sound at the beginning is quite harsh. Names ending in 'ley' have been done to death in America. I know you are American, so how a name is perceived in the UK/Ireland is of little importance to you, but to my ear it sounds a bit chavarooneytastic.0 -
Iv already got a baby boy named Leo Riley and if we have a boy next time, we want Ryan and for a girl Zoey., I want to pick names people can pronounce and write easily0
-
But I would like to say I have a super generic name (Amanda Marie) and I have always wished it was something more unique or odd. It might just be my personality but all of my siblings are the same. (Joshua, Rachael, Melissa, Amanda) And my parents are Jennifer and Jon. lol. All so common. And I am not a fan. I give my mom crap as a joke about her lack of creativity lol.0

Rosalie Anne0

I once knew a Alexander (alex) and his mum said she chose it because if he ever became someone important, it would look good on a name plack lol. My own boys are Joseph and Issac(<- yes i know not the traditional spelling) which i thik are very sound names for a boy, although iv lost count how many times iv been asked if im Jewish!0

Rose is a FANTASTIC name! Forget about the other one you mentioned, but Rose is a great name, it will bring a great life of luck and love! Enjoy your baby!0

Yeah but it's the fact that you're advertising that you DON'T care about other cultures that makes you look a little uneducated! Decklin for example is a corrupted spelling of Declan. Declan is a perfectly normal name, why make it look uneducated by spelling it Decklin! But hey, it's your child and at the end of the day, nobody really cares what you do! so good luck to baby Hadley and baby Decklin!0 -
makes me think of Japanese porn sorry0

A nice name for any daughter would be Helen Elizabeth after my grandmothers (it is also the name I would have had if I was born female). My mother's name, Sheila, is a lovely name as well. For a son, I think it would be nice to use family names from my patrilineal line, such as Joseph or Henry, although I like Alexander and Samuel as well.
I guess me and the child's mother, if I do eventually father a child, could choose a name each and see how well they go together, and whether one is the first name or the middle name.0 -
Just a thought, I don't know why you want Baruka, but since many people have raised points about it having a bad meaning etc, what about Baraka if you want something like that? It is a name and it means blessing in lots of languages0
-
I've always loved the name Tate or Austin. Austin Tate. Tate Austin.
I like Austin, but Tate sounds like taint.0 -
I LOVE the name Rose. Baruka, not so much at all.0
-
I've decided not to be wild about another baby name until I am actually pregnant. Almost every name I've loved before I got pregnant became trendy. I'm SO not a trendy person so I couldn't go with it after it became popular. IE: Isabella, Jackson, Logan, Dylan. I still love the names, but not for my child.0
-
HELL NO!!!...Your child will hate their name and change it when she's 18. Both of my children have unique names but I had to make sure they didn't sound like I had a mouth full of sh** when I say it. Sorry but names are so sensitive. At my job we have a running list of terrible names like Jewelry, Africanique...WTH?!?!
My friend is a kindergarten teacher and she told me some of the names of the kids in her class and I was dumbfounded
Twins name: Orangejello (Or-ran-Jay-Lo) Yellowjello (Ya-Lan-Jay-Lo)
and the topper (I not even sure MFP will let me type this) A s s h o l e (accent on the e, can't figure out how to type that accent mark) so it's prounounced (*kitten*- o- LAY)
My cousin worked with a man named lemonjello (le-mon-jay-lo)
My grandmother when she taught second grade had twins named male (maa-le) and female (fe-maa-le). the parents thought the hospital named their kids when they saw the male and female marked on the birth certificate.
I named my son Justus but spelled it Justice so people could pronounce it and say it ( I am a long time general hospital watcher and loved the name) but everyone just thinks his name is Justin.
I wish I was joking.0 -
I don't care how much I loved a baby name. If it's meaning had anything to do with an "evil spirit" I would choose another name. My son lives up to his name which means "'Little fire". Believe it or not, there is a lot of similarity between the meaning and the person.0
-
I think that what you name your kids is between you and the dad. People will like it, some won't. To me it doesn't matter just remember they are stuck with it for LIFE> IMHO0
-
Thanks everyone for all the great advice we did decide not to go with Bakura.
Not to take the name from Harry Potter but i love Luna and always will lol0 -
Rose is very nice...0
