For people who think that this is a lifestyle or something to do year round its NOT lifestyle its a good Kick in the *kitten* to get you started and hopefully after the diet you would be on the right path and make better food choices. it was never intended to be a lifestyle.0

NO PRoBLEM thats what happens when you try to bully someone that shows your maturity as well. Honestly we are all here for the same reason. To loose weight and live a healither life style so why does it matter to you in how other make their choice in doing so. I think it is a waste of time and energy to bully/fight with other people because of the decision that they have made.I hear you there are alot of other people out there just like you!. I wouldn't call him a jerk, he has a point. You cannot sustain any type of fitness gain, on 500 calories a day.0

And? Did you actually read them or just ignore them because the studies were done in the 70's and 1990?
Knowledge about the HCG fad has been around a lot longer than you realize.0 -

Find me one single scientific study done that shows that HCG is effective for weight loss. Just one.
Oh, and not an editorial or opnion piece but one published in a legitimate scientific peer-reviewed journal.0 -

Most people wouldn't consider following a VLCD without a doctor's supervision to be the route to a healthier lifestyle. It's foolish to support people eating so little without a health care provider monitoring, it's like supporting the anorexics on this site.
And, from the FDA link provided above:
Anyone who has ever been on a diet—and there are many of us—knows that there are sensible ways to lose weight. These include balanced diets, exercising and realistic goals.
And then there are reckless ways to shed pounds—fads and diet aids that promise rapid weight loss, but often recommend potentially dangerous practices. These include HCG weight-loss products marketed over-the-counter (OTC) that are identified as "homeopathic" and direct users to follow a severely restrictive diet.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers to steer clear of these "homeopathic" human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) weight-loss products. They are sold in the form of oral drops, pellets and sprays and can be found online and in some retail stores.0 -
Clearly anyone who disagrees with HCG is outdated or a "bully." Flying Spaghetti Monster forbid someone eats a moderate deficit and exercises regularly.0

Not that I care what you choose to do with your body but would you discount any research done 30 years ago about the effect cigarettes have on the likely development of lung cancer or the effect of alcohol on fetal development, I mean "god in heaven" I would hate to think that if a valid scientific conclusion was reached 30 years ago we should ignore it. I mean just go pick up a pack of cigs on the way down to the bar for the baby shower.
Just because information was discovered 30 years ago does not make it invalid.0 -

We haven't proven the world is round in the last 30 years either. Careful not to fall off the next time you travel overseas.0 -
Please do not waste your money or risk your health on the HCG diet.
The only reason people lose weight on the HCG diet plan is you are only allowed to eat 500 calories a day. HCG has been scientifically proven to do NOTHING to help with weight loss or to make it safe to eat only 500 calories a day. It will not protect muscle, reset your metabolism or do anything else the snake oil salesmen that sell it claim. Dr. Simeons was a quack doctor. His "HCG protocol" has absolutely NO scientific backing and is not worth risking your health on.
Just because you might be able to lose weight fast by eating only 500 calories a day, with or without HCG, does not make that diet safe. Nearly all weight loss experts say that you need to eat AT LEAST 1,200 calories a day, no matter what diet plan you are on. When you eat any less than that, you are depriving your body of necessary nutrition.
The MFP moderators have been cautioning members against attempting that diet because it is so dangerous.
Please read the articles on these websites before you try HCG. I know some people that put their faith in the HCG diet, and became very ill from malnutrition as a result. It is NOT safe! I hope you can return the HCG stuff and get your money back.
The Government is now in the process of getting all that fraudulent stuff off the market, and it's about time!
