How should I take this MFP message?

That is just really wierd.
makes you wonder about some of the threads tho, asking what type of car you drive, where ate you from, What's your real name or when's your birthday. These I regard as personal questions unless you've become good friends with someone. I would never post those kind of answers in public message boards. Maybe I'm too cautious. Think about it tho. Scammers etc only need a few personal details.
Creepy...made me more wary now.0 -
I wonder if they are related to the Nigerian prince I sent my account numbers to last month. Expecting a big payoff any day now.
Hey, wait a minute - something's not right - cuz he said I'm the only living relative, what gives?0 -

Wait. You're getting a big payoff? They promised me I was the only one. Dang. I think I might have been had.0 -
If he included an email address, you can post it and the message here: http://thescambuster.co.uk/Submit Scam Email.htm0

agreed. i would report to myfitnesspal so they know it's going on. it's probably against the terms of service or something, and detracting from the usefulness of the site.0

I have to admit I was a bit creeped out when I recieved this message on MFP. I don't quite know how to take it, should I be flattered or offended? I have blocked this person as this is not the type of message I would expect from this site. I have removed the name of the sender. Opinions?
So here it is:
" Hello Madam I am with much pleasure to send you this email. By the way I will for ever stand by to say sorry if you don't expect any email from you. How are you doing with your beloved famioly? I hope Insha Allah you shall for ever Blah Blah Blah....

I would have stopped reading at Allah (nothing personal, just that's usually what these e-mails are) and deleted it as spam. Don't respond, just delete it.0
-
Would agree to make certain that it's reported on MFP. I would be creeped out too.0

Yeah, I get these in my hotmail all the time. Broken english "girls" asking me to be their friends and/or do them and/or marry them.0

I lost the love of my mom during the year 1994 as a result of a war that was caused through a sale over a guinea fowl.
I'd never heard of it either, but apparently it really was a war and really did have many unnecessary deaths.
"The last major [Ghanaian civil] conflict, the so-called "Guinea Fowl War" of 1994, was much larger than that of 1981. It is popularly referred to as the "Guinea Fowl War" because of reports that the conflict began in a market with a fight between a Konkomba and Nanumba man over the price of a guinea fowl. This dispute precipitated violence that quickly engulfed seven northern districts, six ethnic groups and resulted in an estimated 15,000 deaths (van der Linde and Naylor 1999:27). Naturally, the roots of the dispute between these groups run deeper than a marketplace altercation. "

This is a SCAM, not only do you need to block this person, but you need to report this to the moderator. I would also recommend that you remove the photo of you and your child, for safety right now. I am not trying to alarm you --but suggest you be extremely cautious. This is creepy in every sense of the word!!
this and i would make a new account tooo just in case i know u blocked him but nothing stops him from making an new account and putting it in a new name0 -
Poor guy just needs a mommy!! Why ya gotta be dissin the guy who lost his mommy? :laugh:0
-
No, I think you should be flattered. And tell him you would LOVE to be his mommy - he just needs to send you at least $300 per week in cash or money orders. Give him a P.O. Box number to send it to, and voila! ! You have a little supplementary income for the time it takes to send your nice "mommy" emails out ! ! :laugh:0

One of my MFP friends posted a couple of days ago that she received a similar email. Definitely a scam. I would report it.0
