      it's a semi-automatic type writer, I learned to type on one of those and actually have a old school fully meachanic non-automatic type writer at home. the sound is awesome and typing on it feels so cool, too :)

      Don't feel bad. I'm 22 and I used typewriters until the age of 12. One of them wasn't even electric!

      Im only 28 and I learned to type on one JUST like that too! My Dad got it from some apartment he cleaned out.

      When I was in the Navy, part of my job was to know how to take one of these babies apart and put them back together again! LOL!

      I remember being a teen and trying to call into radio station contests from the roatary dial phone "1 *click*, 3 *click clickclick* 4*clickclickclickclick*" and before I'd finish dialing the stupid number they had their winner. Oh I'd get so mad at my parents for not getting a touch tone phone!
