Is one greek yogurt better than others? Are any really good?

Chobani Pineapple and Peach are my favorite. I've tried the plain (yech) and Vanilla (too much vanilla imo). I usually add about 1/4 cup of Go Lean Crunch for some well...crunch.0

Chobani is my favorite! I love pineapple and black cherry flavors. Yum!0

I have tryed a couple different kinds with and without fruit and I think it is so gross! I did have some dip made with it that was pretty good though, I guess some of us just dont have a taste for it!0

The original is great too.0 -
Noosa! I'm not sure if you can get it outside of Colorado, though. I'm pretty sure its not Greek yogurt, also, but it has the same consistency. It's made on a family owned farm, rBGH free, uses local honey for sweetener and seasonal fruit purees for flavor. And it's the best yogurt I've ever eaten.0

I've really liked Zoi and Chobani yogurts. The fruit on the bottom ones are the best! My favorites are blueberry cream, peach, and pineapple! Greek yogurts are usually fat free and have lots of protein in them.0

Chobani lemon is my favorite. I LOVE it. I bought an individual ice-cream maker and just put the container of lemon Choboni in it for an even more delicious treat.
I also buy the Fage, but I have only ever seen the plain kind. I have to add fresh fruit or lemon curd or something to spice that up a bit. It makes an excellent substitute for sour cream, though. It's also really good with raisins and chopped celery and/or apples.0 -
I have tried dannon and oikos and I hated the bitter taste! Any suggestions?
I like Dannon's even though it's not real greek yoguart.... But for REAL greek yogart, I like Oikos. Have you tried adding a pkt of
splenda to it? There are 2 kinds, one w/the fruit already mixed in and one where you have to mix... Have you tried both? (Just watch bcs they don't all have the same cals).
Personally, I dislike Chobani, tho it has the most protein, it's the most bitter to me.0 -
I had got some greek fat free a while back that I had used as a sour cream sub that was fantastic, I even made a fake stroganoff that was delicious, but I did not write down the brand and now I can't figure out what kind it was or where I got it.0

i have noticed that a lot of people on MFP eats greek yogurt on a daily basis, can anyone explain me why?
Many more of the calories in Greek yogurt come from protein rather than carbohydrates. Dannon has about 5 grams of protein (20 cals.) whereas Dannon Greek has 16 grams of protein (64 cals.). On a low cal diet, it's often difficult to get enough protein.0 -
Chiobani is really good. Fage and Chiobani are a little on the expensive side so i buy the aldi brand. Its called friendly farms. Its pretty decent taste-wise and ingredient wise too.0

THANK YOU EVERYONE! I will check Aldi since I tend to shop there 90% of the time. I only go to walmart or other big store for certain things. I love frosted mini wheats blueberry muffin and cream of wheat . Aldi's does not have anything like that. I will check the 2 most mentioned here and aldis brand this week. I hope I can find one of them that I will like.0

I must be weird, I eat it for the bitter taste, haha.0

I'm not a huge fan of Chobani, but I love Oikos. Chobani is kind of grainy to me.0

I eat Dannon Oikos Plain Nonfat Yogurt. Greek yogurt is high in protein, which helps promote fullness. I add flaxmeal, slivered almonds or blueberries to it for variety. I like this brand because it has only 6 grams of sugar. Other yogurts can really pack on the sugar grams and I try my best to keep my sugar as low as possible. This brand also has lower sodium that most, only 50mg. http://health.usnews.com/health-news/diet-fitness/diet/articles/2011/09/30/greek-yogurt-vs-regular-yogurt-which-is-more-healthful0 -
I broke down and bought the Chobani brand because that was at the store I went to. I got the pineapple and peach. This brand is so much better than the 2 I had before. This is not bitter like the others I had. I started with the pineapple and this one is pretty good but it is definitely a taste to get use to...lol. I will be trying Aldi's version when I go shopping in 2 weeks...0
