    Hello everyone.

Jan 17: 210-212lbs, have slight love handles, no 6pack
    Feb19: 194-196lbs , can see 6pack.

Absolutely no muscle mass was lost. I GAINED strenght. and my ARM gained 0.5'' from 13.5 to 14''(THATS AFTER FAT LOSS)

i expect to be 8% bodyfat by may, (with some carb cycling ofcourse). My 8% is around 180lbs.

    Feels good man
You can gain strength while losing weight. Not uncommon. But to say you lost no muscle mass would be untrue. Even the BEST bodybuilders in the world lose muscle mass when they "cut".
As for gaining size in the arms, that happens whenever anyone part takes in a weight lifting program as a newbie.

It's important to ensure that correct information is given so that others don't try it just on hearsay.

You can gain muscle on 500calorie deficit no problem. Even endomorphs can do it i think.

EDIT: Newbie gains definately help to shape your body. Then it becomes very slow to gain muscle.
Treat your muscle with respect everyone:) dont do deficit dieting for too long.
make sure u eat enough protein

I'm not trying to get into any negative debates here... But your correct. I'm only saying because i don't see the point of comming onto mfp... With a set program... And basically giving your program... I think the original poster is on the wrong site... Not being a ****... But he's totally wrong... I'm not getting into a debate here... But I also don't want to see anyone taking poor advice to heart. Stick with the mfp recommendations over any novice advice please.

    Alright lets stop arguing.

here are some points that are not arguable:

Resting heart rate from 72/min to 64/min

Systolic BP down from high 130's to low 110's

Feel much lighter and feel more energy.

And FYI ... I'm about 12-14 percent body fat... I find a lot of guys either lie or underestimate their fat percentages... I eat 4200 cals per day just to maintain that percentage and gain some muscle w/ said fat percent attatched at a slow slow rate.... Deficit gains???? I don't think so... Tried it... Doesn't work. Don't work for losing fat either... That's a huge deficit... That's a storing deficit people...

Something about the original post screams "spam." Kind of like the emails about "getting a bigger penis" or losing "50 pounds in 50 days" with the new "patented method."

It is really only for short term dieting, as its super unhealthy to eat like this.

This is exactly why you shouldn't be posting threads like this.

Lots of people enjoy wild success on the Jenny Crank diet - but promoting that method here on a site about healthy and sustainable fitness and weight loss is just not appropriate.

This **** makes me laugh so hard. Stick with that diet for a few months and tell me what happens then. I am a walking study on wtf you are doing. My Test levels dropped from 690 to 390 in the matter of 6months and put on 40lbs of fat. My hormones went buck wild. My TDEE went to ****, I could not retain a HR during cardio or weight training. My bench dropped 100-125lbs in the matter of weeks.

Then again I am sure I am just some ****** mate.

No broscience here. I deal in SCIENTIFIC PEER REVIEWED STUDIES. Realize that to gain muscle you are gaining weight. While there are a few exceptions (athlete returning to lifting after a long layoff, obese/very overweight person new to lifting, newbie who has NEVER trained with weights before) it's practically impossible to gain muscle while on calorie deficit.
To gain muscle is to gain weight and it's NEVER just pure muscle. Fat will come along with it.

    1. Please REMOVE your Credentials!!!!!

    2. How do you explain peer reviewed testosterone study of 17lbs muscle gain and 5lbs fat loss at the same time without even excercise? Shows human body can do it.
    3. What about all the people who are losing fat and have bigger muscles and stronger.

    4. You said I still lost some muscle, let me tell you If you gain strenght, you gain muscle at the very minimum. Usualy strenght = muscle.
    5. But more strenght is definately not muscle loss.

    6.You spread misinformation

You've been here one week. Ninerbuff has been here a hell of a lot longer and been a huge help to many users. He's made his credentials available for all to see. He routinely gives out smart, sound advice. Nothing dangerous or unhealthy.

Ah I thought it might be something close to keep intake at 1500 with adequate protein

I did Lyle's psmf not too long ago. Minus the fruit but still had many veggies plus the EC stack + fish oil

I just think multis taste terrible xD

I am guilty of not reading every post on this thread. One thing I do know about starvation mode and how it affected my body:

After a low calorie diet and fairly rigorous exercise plan I lost a good amount of weight. As long as I was exercising and "eating healthy" everything was fine. The problem arises when you stop counting calories and exercising. Yes, your body will lose weight in starvation mode, but when you slack off just a little, it hoards every calorie it can into fat. Your metabolism is still low so even though you think you need 3500 calories for your lifestyle, your body says.. I can do it with 2000 and stores the rest. Then you will be a yo-yo, always having to "diet" to maintain control. You look pretty young right now, but just wait until you are past your prime or decide to slack off for a while. Something to think about.

I think the important part is that you lifted every day, if you hadn't the weightloss would have been muscle and not fat, so for anyone not lifting the body is going to hold onto fat and eat up muscle....which I guess is what people call starvation mode???

People call starvation mode when your body's metabolism slows down by 100%. which is bull****.
People who lose weight w/o excercise lose 75% fat, 25% muscle.

so what % of fat vs muscle do you lose if you exercise as well? anyone know?

Got my results back on Friday actually. I am at 580 now but I am told there is a direct correlation between body fat % and free test levels! So the leaner you are the more efficient your body is at producing hormones. When I was 180lbs I had that level. I am at 194-195 right now.

Im afraid to take that stuff. Would definately help me, helps everyone and kills appetite like no fibre can ever do. But it has some scary side effects that happen to some people. + it also reduces penis size in its flaccid state during EC use., dont want that to happen.

yeah i agree, but i just hope people have enough common sense to realise that what people post in these froums isnt exactly an example of good advice given that the majority of posts arent coming from anyone that is in the health industry with any true insight... I hope anyway but then again i completley see why everyones getting defensive within that context!!!!

i know but to be honest i tink what people may say in hear, and although its in good intention, the person in question isnt really going to listen, i mean i could say he probably hasnt got 'stronger' his muscles have just learned how to lift, and he probably hasnt lost and muscle mass because hes obvciously fairly heavy given his weight, and hes only been doing it a little while - i could make a list of nit picking but i wont becausethat would be mean and i dont want to be, well i kinda just was but yehhhhhh

While I don't have anything to say to criticize your methods, I do have to agree that just because you can lift more doesn't mean you necessarily gained muscle. You probably did, but equating increased strength to increased muscle is inaccurate. Also, the idea that you only gained muscle and only lost fat is inherently flawed, but it doesn't mean you didn't improve upon yourself.
Good job, mate. However, be more careful with how you state things.
