I heard a funny discussion about the gas prices on the TV the other day. They were commenting that when gas hit $3 a gallon everyone was up in arms and blaming Bush and saying he had to do something about it. Why aren't we blaming Obama for this mess that we're in? All's fair....

Because Obama can do no wrong duh :)

I know, isn't it insane?! In Michigan, it was around $3.30 towards the end of last week, and I just saw on the news last night that it's now in the $3.50s. They said it could get up to $4.50 by summertime!! Crazy...

where are you in Michigan paying $3.30? lol Las time I pumped gas it was already $3.50 in Adrian the time before that it was $3.69 I believe. It seems the day after I fill my tank up in fear it will rise again the day after it goes down a little then spikes right back up. It sucks because I live in Adrian and it is a small town and we have to pay so much then the last time I went to Ann Arbor it was 20 cents cheaper and it is a much bigger town and far more wealthier of a town too.

Guys I live in the UK where we recently changed from Gallons to Litres when measuring fuel.

One Gallon = about 4.5 Litres

1 Litre of petrol in the UK costs about £1.09... Or $1.72 in USD.

That means a gallon of "gas" at UK prices would cost you around $7.74

Thank your lucky stars and stripes for what you pay!
    £1.09 a litre.???

£1.29 a litre buddy and £1.36 for diesel

I paid $3.41 yesterday... and it was a good thing I got it yesterday, because I saw this morning it was $3.59 and that's one of our "cheaper" gas stations (but not as cheap as walmart)... I can stand $4 gas (though I will not like it) but $5 is way too much... it's a good thing I have a semi-compact car... Oh and I live in the DFW area.

That doesn't mean it's any less harder... when you get used to it being a lower price and then it jumps 60 cents everytime you look, it's hard. Besides, we are such an auto-centric society that most of this country doesn't have decent alternative BUT to drive. And I thought Europeans (Brits included) always measured in liters, not gallons... at least this was the case years ago.

Yep here in the UK it's about $9 a gallon!!! And probably on it's way up AGAIN!!!! Would be lush to only pay the sterling equivalent of $3.89!!!! but then the government wouldn't like it as they would lose out big time since they take about 60% in tax or thereabouts!!! The motorist gets kicked all the time over here & when u live in a rural area with next to no public transport then u have no choice but to use ur car & pay the premium costs!!! Grrrrr.....

Hahaha... I live in a city (and not a rural one at that) that doesn't have any public transport either... so I feel that pain... I would rather take the bus...

$3.49 in central IL ~ I was able to fill up at $3.23 before it went up yesterday. I got a bike for Christmas and can't wait for it to warm up just a little bit more for me to use it everyday.

I think I'm going to have to buy a motorcycle once I hit my goal weight. Not because I'm a motorcycle enthusiast or anything; in fact the thought of riding one intimidates me a little. But they absolutely sip gasoline.
