How should I wake up my boyfriend today?

We have things to do today, including visiting his mum who's birthday it is, cleaning the house in preparation for our landlord coming round tomorrow and cooking a roast chicken dinner that we've been looking forward to for weeks. He starts work at 5pm. He knew all of this....but still chose to stay up playing COD until after 7am...when warned upon coming to bed that I'd still be getting him up I was told in his "I'm serious" voice he wouldn't be getting up until he was ready.

So do I:

A) Leave him in bed until he wants to get up and do all the stuff myself.
B) Leave him in bed until he wants to get up and go shopping with his money instead of doing the stuff.
C) Gently wake him at the time I was going to any way and hope he's had a change of heart.
D) Wake him by going in with the vaccum earlier than intended.
E) Other (suggestions welcome ;))

We have a pitbull. I send her into the bedroom with the command, "Get'em!" She jumps up on the bed and prances around, pulling the covers off of him.
Otherwise, I'd say run the vaccum.

That's what happens when you're with a gamer. I'm 32 and I could seriously stay up all night playing a game I found really good.

    Speaking as an official male.

Nothing could be better than a long night of COD, followed by sleep.
I saw wake him up with some girl-friendly pleasure. Also bring a beer.

You can only do this once, but just whisper in his ear gently "I'm late." That will shoot any guy up onto the roof.
  • You know what to do, give him a reason to rise!!

He wouldn't be grumpy if you followed the hypothetically deleted suggestions.

why wake him? If HE chooses to sleep and miss his Mums birthday oh well, that's not your problem, let him explain to her why he didn't visit.

House isn't clean? Well who is home during the week to clean it? Do you both work and that's why it isn't done or is it yall just don't clean until you have to? If that's the case then let the house be like it is, rushing to clean because someone is coming is lame, house should be neat (not spic and span all the time) daily.

Want chicken for supper? Then cook it, you don't need him to hold the chicken while you get the pan to put it in right?

Go about your day the way you want to, he chose to stay up, you choose to go out and spend your own money not his. Taking someones money to shop while they sleep is pretty childish.

Oh not cod:/ hate that game! Big bucket of ice cold water definately haha. Nahh just gently wake him up, engage him in conversation so he doesn't fall back to sleep, ask him if he could get ready and help you?

haha OP didnt say she was going to take his money, but asked if she should wait till he wants to get up and go shopping instead of helping (or however it was put).
But honestly what I do is just go on about my day like I normally would like you said. And maybe (to the OP) do most of the cleaning but leave something small for him to do later after yall get back from his moms, that way he is nice and awake and it wont seem as much bothersome to him as it did before which means he will be more willing to do it.

So you get to be "mum" and make sure he doesnt suffer the consequences of his slacking. Nice.

The house has to be cleaned by tomorrow before inspection but he doesnt have to do that now because he chose to game the entire night? Let him miss his mums birthday and then let him explain to his mum why.

Don't reward him for being an *kitten* by giving him a "special" wakeup. Don't tiptoe around him. His obviously not going to help with the pre-inspection clean if he hasn't slept all night and has to work at 5.00 pm.

Gaming all night is great when you have someone to pick up the slack for you. Get yourself a man who thinks Call of Duty means he doesn't make a parent out of his lover. They are the kind of guys who deserve random "special wakeups".

I know I'm probably too late for this, but!!...

When this happen to me, I clean as loudly as possible. When he stumbles down the stairs all grumpy and whiny, tell him you're playing COD: Home Edition and that the place is crawling with dust bunnies who are armed to the teeth. Have his "weapon" at the ready: vacuum, mop, or whatever you have handy. You could really get into this if you want to, but I'm mainly going for the humorous/sarcastic approach. If that somehow doesn't make him smile, a simple "you mad, bro?" will suffice.

I have found this very effective when my fiance stays up late playing games and things need to get done, too. The worst thing you can do is make it comfortable and easy for him to sleep in. Plus, I find it makes me feel better to joke about how upset I am...eventually he comes around.

We are both gamers, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Ultimately, life trumps gaming.
