Exactly HOW do you eat your excercise calories

This may seem like a silly question but how do you fill in your excercise cals? I am usually full with my 1200-1300 cals a day. On the days I'm still hungry, I eat more. But If I'm not, i don't and those days are usually 1200 cal days. I'm a HUGE veggie lover but there are only so many cals in the veg! I try to keep my carbs below the MFP allotment and my protein higher.

What do you eat to gain cals without feeling stuffed?

It depends. I have a tin full of biscuits and I'll have a few of those if I've got the calories spare and don't intend to really treat myself. Otherwise, I'll buy a little chocolate bar or treat myself to a more indulgent evening meal. Usually, it's the biscuits.

For me full is fine...overly stuffed = bad. But that's just me.

If I'm not hungry, I don't eat them. Or if I have quite a bit leftover for the day I eat a tablespoon or two of peanut butter.

"Just right" stuffed is my favorite way to be.

PB, fruit, nuts, some sort of whole grain... all good options for upping your calorie count.
Food is fuel. You need it.

If I'm not hungry I don't eat them, otherwise I have a protein shake and a little snack of some sort (greek yoghurt, honey and banana, or ryvita / cracker breads and peanut butter)

eat anything that will help you meet your macro and calorie goal. Does not have to be any specific type.

nuts and rasins - shockingly high in cals, very yummy and pretty healthy too.....

Or fruit mixed in high cal yoghurt - There are some really georgous flavours available out ther eif you're not going low fat/low cal

Sandwiches/toast - bread is my achilles heel.

If I've done a big exercise session circuit training or zumba for an hour I have a smoothie straight after - as extra not as a meal replacement, that way my cals are about even.

I plan my day knowing what kind of exercise I'll be doing and what kind of burn I have, so it's never a matter of "eating them back." Just eating.

Take your veggies and add some full-fat ranch dip mixed 50/50 with Greek yogurt. A tasty calorie boost with a bit of protein. )

I eat only enough to be at least between 1200-1300 calories. Some days eating back all the calories can be difficult...I find that I can eat all day long with veggies especially so then I get really full quick.

For the most part I usually just have a yogurt in the evening, or if my calories are really low I have been allowing myself a small sugar free pudding or jello. So yummy! Popcorn....even a small slice of whole wheat bread with peanut butter... I also snack on some cheese sometimes too...not a lot, but maybe a cheese string.

    ^this

sometimes i dont eat them all on that day though, and use sunday as my "make up" day to use up any exercise calories i didnt eat during the week - somtimes its a trip to the bar, sometimes is extra dessert or some nachos..cookies/brownies etc

Sometimes I munch on roasted edemame nuts, sometimes I have a bowl of berries or melon. Sometimes, I actually have chips or a chunk of cheese. I never, ever have trouble eating my exercise calories (although I leave at least 30% as a cushion against miscalculations).

Me too :) I think some people think they have to wait until after a workout to eat those extra cals from exercise. They head to the gym after work and when they get home they have like 2000 cals & think OMG I need to eat these before I go to bed. If I have a heavy workout day (or a hiking day...even better) I just eat more snacks throughout the day or a bigger breakfast or lunch. I love to eat, so it's not a problem. :blushing:

I spread mine out over the day. So on the days I work out, I eat a bigger breakfast and lunch. If at the end of the day, I still have some left, I eat something naughty for dessert. In other words, a treat.

pb&j - almost every day before my workout at lunch
    wine
olive oil - I use it to roast my veggies and practically anything else I cook, it adds calories
    nuts
    pasta
Amy's cheese free roasted veggie pizza - yum yum!
really, I never have a problem eating all of my calories
    Today I had cheese puffs
Just because you're trying to lose weight doesn't mean you have to exist on vegetables.

Generally I drink my exercise calories in a long stemmed glass. But adding a little olive oil to your veggies will also shoot those calories right up.
