I put peanut butter in mine. I prefer the 7 gain hot cereal over oatmeal, less calories and its yummier.
  • Currently I have 1tsp of chocolate or caramel sauce left over from pancake day :) Very yummy & gives a nice sugar fix.

umm my most recent love is cocoa powder, a packet or two of stevia, and some shredded cococnut. tastes like a no bake cookie :D
i also like putting different flavored protein powders in..
craisins or raisins with cinnamon sugar.

I take some dried cranberries or blueberries and smash up some almonds into bits and stir it in. If you want a change...the steel cut grains are also very good.

For 1c of cooked oatmeal, I always chop up an entire pink lady or granny smith apple! (Yes, it's a lot of apple) Then I add 1/8c of raisins, 1 tsp of cinnamon, and either stevia or raw honey! It's delicious
    ^^^ This.

Add a couple tablespoons of walnuts if you have the fat allowance available and enjoy nuts.
  • I mix mine with protein powder and natural peanut butter then add a little almond milk.. You can also mix the oatmeal with eggwhites add (flax, protein powder, berries) whatever your preference and make a pancake. Its super yummy.

almond milk or hazelnut milk are great options if you want to drop the calories and usually use semi skimmed milk.

Tesco have a new free from range that includes coconut and chocolate flavored milk alternative that is the same calories as semi skimmed milk.

I add usually 1/3 cup greek yogurt plain or vanilla, 1 tablespoon heavy cream, and 1/4 cup fresh berries (either whatever's on sale, or whatever was on sale that I stocked up on and froze)

Ahhh good ol' fashioned oatmeal is the BEST!!! Not like those packets that contains all sortsa other questionable ingredients such as a *kitten* load of sugar.

Frozen blueberries or any berries are the best to dump in the oatmeal. If you still need something sweet try agave syrup. I like the cinnamon suggested previously, too.

Great, I think I'll try some of these suggestions. Thanks !
  • I use Bob's Red Mill quick-cooking oats - half a cup of that, with three-quarters of a cup of unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze, plus a Splenda packet, some frozen mixed berries, and slivered almonds. Sometimes if I'm feeling sassy, I add half a scoop of chocolate protein powder. Mmm!

yoghurt, fruit, nut butter, whatever. I add anything I want to my oatmeal. Although, I once used hot apple cider instead of water and my mouth threw a little party.

I chop up an apple and soften it a little with a short hit in the microwave, and then a little bit of brown sugar for flavour. So good, and you get a serving of fruit with your whole grains!

    LOVE Oatmeal!

Here are some variations that I do (I mix with water since I don't like milk):

Oats cooked with canned pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. After heated, mix in a scoop of vanilla protein powder.

Oats cooked with cocoa powder and PB2 and ground cinnamon with 1/2 of a banana.

There are a bunch of other combos too, but these are the 2 that I can think of at the moment.

Two favorites - craisins and brown sugar or cinnamon and brown sugar

Lately I've been doing plain oatmeal with a serving of homemade slowcooker apple-pear butter (from Martha Stewart's web page). Delicious.

1/3 cup pure pumpkin + pumpkin pie spices. Delish! For a treat I sometimes add pecans in.

    --OR--

    1/2 banana + 1 tbsp coconut + cinnamon = tropical heaven!

I usually add chia seeds to both dishes and sweetener/stevia.

I have also tried a caramel stevia, that is so yummy!
