I wouldn't see a issue if we started off slowly and heck if a dude likes me after seeing some unflattering pics why not I mean I know Im hot or what not. The issue I see here though is there aren't as many hot guys as there are women here..I see a few guys here ever so often that are like wow what I could do to you would burn so many calories but not enough..Im open to greatness where ever it may come.

My past two boyfriends I met online, then met up in person not long after. I wouldn't be opposed to it. Meeting someone with a similar lifestyle would be a plus.

However, I'm not single nor looking at this time. :flowerforyou:

dating someone from mfp would solve some problems. He would understand that workouts are non negotialble and just because I choose to do a workout rather than sit on the couch with him doesnt mean I dont love him!

Well my boyfriend isn't on here because he has the fastest metabolism in the world and eats crap all day and still looks great. So no.

No...when they ask to meet you, you never know if they're a rapist. Back in middle school, we had Computers Class, and everyday my teacher had a story about some stupid person who met someone online and decided to meet them in real life. They were either: killed, raped, got away (with cuts though), beaten, sexually assaulted, or now a prostitute.

Don't take offense though, it is just my opinion. That probably made me look like a b*tch, but I'm really sweet :)
It's just that my cousin met someone online and she was raped then killed...she was like my sister. And I'm trying to pass along the message that people shouldn't meet people online unless you have background checks or is a friend of your friend.

Yea why not... I'm very open to all kinds of relationship, online or real. Although distance is a very big factor but it really doesn't matter if it can overcome with love.

I understand your point but it also happens in real life, not just online which is why it is important to make a background check first.

*blush* as it so happens I am lol! AMAZING guy!!!!! We "met" on here, have been dating in real life for a couple of months now, so far so good!

I think it matters not WHERE you meet, but how you interact after that counts right?

I get really annoyed at this attitude for a variety of reasons. I think it's shallow and looking at the world in a very small way. I can't stand closed mindedness.

Internet dating is for people that can't get laid IRL because they're socially awkward. Or they have some sorta severe inferiority complex, and are too embarrassed to try to interact with people in the real world so they date online. And they have huge insecurity issues too fat, too ugly, too slutty, too needy, too pretty.

Maybe there is just no one they're interested in dating in their area.

You can't be serious. I have NEVER EVER EVER had a problem finding a guy who would sleep with me if i wanted to and NEVER have i taken advantage of the opportunity YET i do the online dating thing.

I would, sure why not?! Like someone said, it's just the same as meeting someone in a library or something. I don't have enough time to go out all that much, so...

That'd probably fall into the third criteria of huge insecurity issues...

It has nothing to do with being socially awkward! I agree with the person above me! Seriously, online dating is not that big of a deal as people make it out to be! It's the same thing as meeting someone out in public initially, you STILL don't know them and they can still be a psycho or turn out to be completely normal! It makes no difference. I can go out and meet guys or I look online and still be able to find someone!

I'm half serious....but I'm 1000% sure people will have a million horrid experiences with internet dating before there is success in their e-dating quest.
