I would say it really depends on your body type. A small frame would probably look good at 91 lbs but if you have a big frame that could look gaunt and unhealthy.
A goal weight of 125 is good for now. When you get there, if you dont like it, just lose more.0 -
I am 5'2 and weigh 100 pounds! I love the way my body looks at this weight! Someone my height is supposed to weight 120 if I remember right!! When I weighed around 130 I looked chunky in my opinion! I did not like the way my body looked until I reached 100 pounds! I could probably get down to 91 pounds but I am afraid I would then look to skinny!0

I'm 4'11 and currently 115--I think I would look awful at 91 pounds. My goal weight is 110. I agree that your build/frame would factor into a healthy weight.0

I hate BMI charts. They don't account for the individual. I agree, get down to your current goal weight of 125, and you can make new goals from there.2

I am 4 10 and weigh 122 pounds and that is a struggle.. I weighed 110 pounds when I got married but I lived on protien shakes and exercised 2 hours a day for the few months before the wedding and there is no way I could upkeep that lifestye. When I am at my fittest, I am a good 118-119 pounds.0

yeah i want to weight around 120 like you. i think my best bet is too just see what happens along the way like everybody else is saying. was just shocked that 91 pounds was recommended. didnt seem healthy to me.0 -
My daughter is 4'9" and weighs about 90 pounds. She is well proportioned and fit, but she is 12 years old. I can't imagine that being ideal for an adult, especially with any kind of shape.4

I'm only 5'1 and 106 pounds...anyone who is 4'10 should be in the 90s and maybe 100 pounds. Because of your height, you have a smaller frame, tinier body, unless you're big-boned. Using MyFitnessPal's BMI calculator, it's actually:
88.5 - 119.6 lbs3 -
Hello. I am just shy of 5 feet tall myself, too, and I currently weigh 90 pounds after loosing approximately 25. It all depends on your muscle mass, too. According to my BMI, I am actually underweight (slightly) now. I have been told I should weigh at least 95 pounds, and the doctor said right around 100 is my ideal weight.
Out of curiosity, and you certainly do not have to answer this if you do not feel comfortable, but is your shorter stature due to an underlying medical condition? I ask because mine actually is associated with a specific medical condition. See, that all plays a factor, too. People with my medical condition typically have thyroid issues, which does not help when it comes to keeping weight off.0 -
yeah exactly! i thought that 90 pounds sounded like a childs weight. but 4'10 is pretty short. and 88.5 ?? being small is not the
greatest thing in the world lol i have alot of work ahead of me. thanks everybody for the answers i have a whole new view on this.1 -
i am41 years old and 4 11 and i cant wait to get back to a healthy weight of at least 130, my health is bad since ive gain all of this weight and need to get it under control. 115 was my high school weight i want to still have curves and not look like a little girl0

I remember reading that at 5 feet tall should be about 100lbs, and then add 5 lbs for every inch over that. If you subtracted 5 lbs for every inch below that would be about right, but it depends on body type of course. If you are solid muscle you are going to weigh heavier.0

its alright and actually no all the girls(my sisters) are under 5'2 and usually have trouble with weight. and the guys(my brothers) are over 6 feet lol and all athletes . quite ironic i drew the short straw and ended up being 4'10. just means i have to work a little harder to lose this weight since my family genes are not on my side.1 -
I'm 5'9" and the lowest weight I should be is 125-128. So 90-100 pounds right for someone who is 4'10"1

I'm 4'10" and about 92 or 93 pounds. However I am still young, haven't had children, have a small frame, a small chest and only a small amount of muscle. I feel much better at this weight then I ever did at a higherone about my body.1

I'm about 4ft 10.5, and I weigh between 114 and 115lbs. I'm still not happy with the way I look, as I still look chubby, so I'll see how it goes at 105 (: (:1
-
I would just focus on getting into a healthy range for your height as a first goal, and then re-evaluate how many vanity pounds you would like to lose
We're all different.5 -
Im 4`11 and 107lbs. Im 2 pounds away from my goal weight, but my main goal is to get a flat stomach and some definition throughout my body. Once I have that then I dont really care how much I weight because I know Im healthy and my BMI is normal.1

thats my plan. gonna start with small goals like loosing 10 pounds and inches etc. see how far this takes me 120 might be good for my frame. hopefully1 -

How did you manage to lose the last few? I'm 4'10" and 100, and I'd like to be somewhere around 95, but it's so difficult. The scale and my measurements won't budge.0 -
Hi idk how old this post is but I'm 4'11" and I weigh 91lbs. I'm 18yrs old. Currently tryin to gain weight to be at LEAST 100lbs. But my doc said my weight is normal.1

Im 4ft 10 in currently weigh 124 after a 26 lbs loss since Jan, I have two children 15 months and turning 3 in aug ,my body isn't the same anymore im sure my goal weight of 110 will look great on my medium frame ,no less though before my children and back further I was 105 and fit, not sure if I would look as good at 105 might appear to thin.
Those charts are not exact on me 120 is fine and 115 and 110, I looks good at those weights but best at 110 but its probably because I'm not small framed
I'm 29 btw0 -
Hi!
I am 4'11. I am currently at 138 as of my last weigh in. My goal is between 110-115lbs. My Dr didnt want me going below 100lbs. I probably won't go below 110 because that is where I felt the most comfortable (before first baby at age 18). I also am slightly wider in the hips, smaller waist, and larger bust.. if that helps.0 -
I'm 5 feet and 90lbs. I think that's technically a bit underweight. While I do ideally still have some fat to lose, to be healthier, I think I need to gain muscle mass to get my poundage up a bit. I'm also in my late 20s. And it doesn't look unnatural or anything. I do think that if I wasn't as active as I currently am, I would probably even out around 95-100lbs. I've seen progress pictures of other 5 feet tall people on here who weigh around 125 and look way fitter than I do though.0

I have to agree with above statements...it really depends on frame, and how you look and feel. I am 4'10, mom of four and 33 years old. through high school I was very active: worked out in a gym, played soccer, and ice hockey. I weighed 115 lbs and wore a size 0/2. I had solid looking legs, but a figure 8 body. I was strong, healthy, and felt wonderful! Now, my body has changed and my expectations of the way it looks, needs to change with it. My legs are becoming strong again (thank The Lord for muscle recognition) but my waist, stomach and bum...that's another story... I will see, soon enough!
All that to say, go with what feels good to you.0 -

Pre baby I was 92lb and I'm 4'11. I have a very small frame though. I would say the quoted range is right if you are willing to take into account frame size. Someone with a small frame at that height would be right at 91lb, where as someone with a medium frame would need to be much further into that range to be at the correct weight for them.0

Yes, I am 4'11 and will be happy at my goal weight of 130. I have never been 110 pounds, well okay maybe in elementary school!! I have always been very active but have always been happiest and felt healthiest at 130. The doctors said longs as my numbers come in okay meaning cholesterol and blood pressure and the such than I will be fine with my goal weight.
I think 91 pounds would personally make me look like I was sick and/or had an eating disorder, but just my opinion. We are all different and built differently so it definitely depends on the person.0
