so i have two questions:
1, has anyone here done and been successful with eating a balanced diet at a moderate calorie deficit or surplus? (years and years)
2, has anyone tried eating balanced nutrition, i mean REALLY tried it and not liked it?
thanks!
p.s. if you start a debate on here or reply with anything besides what i asked, it will make for a nice discussion.

Yes. I started about 1 and a half years ago as a skinny-fat 200lber. Through a mixture of recomping and cutting, I got down to approximately ~10% bodyfat give or take, and lost 7" from my stomach measurement (39" down to 32"). Bodyweight went from 200 to 177 at my leanest, but I also gained a substantial amount of lean mass during the maintenance eating.
Basically, I just set my macros and hit them, and I lifted hard. No cardio because I don't like it.2, has anyone tried eating balanced nutrition, i mean REALLY tried it and not liked it?
I eat "somewhat" balanced but I'm a hardcore IIFYMer. My priorities are as follows:
1) Hit my calories
2) Hit my macros (P>F>C in terms of importance)
3) Make good food choices most of the time, and enjoy treats some of the time.
I do not practice food elimination of any kind, and outside of pursuing fruits and vegetables for health reasons, most of my carbs are white and/or starchy.

There are members of my Facebook Eating Sensibly group that have been Eating Sensibly for 9 years or more...............
And I don't trust when people said they tried it and didn't work. Some people don't work the plan right..............and lie and said they did just so they can complain and bad mouth about the plan they did not do correctly.
I have been strictly Eating Sensibly for a little more than a year and have been playing around with Eating Sensibly and IIFYM for years.
Eating foods is the only way for me to eat.0 -
No. I only do what Dr. Oz tells me to do and he has to be right because he is a dr.0

I've eaten sensibly for three years now. I use good judgment about how often to indulge in treats, and I have lost 82 pounds!
I have found many new and delicious foods in my quest for variety, and I am enjoying eating well, and within my calories.
I will easily sustain this lifestyle for the rest of my life.0 -

1. Yes. I maintained at the high end of "healthy" at 165 for most of my adult lift until I became pregnant for the first time. I lost my pregnancy weight within 6 months of giving birth, also while eating sensibly at a minor calorie deficit (although I didn't count calories at this time). After my second pregnancy I again returned to 165 by eating sensibly, and then lost an additional 20lbs. This time I used Weight Watchers online but ate about 8pts more than they told me too. After my third pregnancy I returned to 150lbs by eating sensibly, at a slight calorie deficit and exercising (Turbo Fire was my exercise of choice at that time). I then gained 10lbs on purpose by eating sensibly at a slight calorie surplus and lifting weights.

Nope! I randomly cut entire food groups out of my diet based on whatever book someone is trying to sell at the moment. Sometimes I just stop thinking entirely and do whatever Dr. Oz tells me.
JUST KIDDING! I watch what I eat, exercise and OMGCANYOUBELIEVEIT I lose weight!0 -

You know, I've tried, but I really haven't been successful at maintaining this particular eating strategy. I am getting better with practice, and this last year I've eaten better and at a slight calorie deficit most of the time. I guess that doesn't count as years and years.2, has anyone tried eating balanced nutrition, i mean REALLY tried it and not liked it?
I've tried it. But I like it, so I guess that means I answer this question with a "no"?p.s. if you start a debate on here or reply with anything besides what i asked, it will make for a nice discussion.
I like debates and discussions too. I was gonna try and say something funny here, but I think I'm not funny today.thanks!
No. Thank YOU.0 -

Define "balanced" and "moderate".
2, has anyone tried eating balanced nutrition, i mean REALLY tried it and not liked it?
Again, depends on your definition of "balanced".
thanks!
Your welcome.p.s. if you start a debate on here or reply with anything besides what i asked, it will make for a nice discussion.
LMAO*
*just kidding on what I wrote above, btw ...I haven't written to you before so you might not recognize my sarcasm0 -
In the interests of filling in the white space. I can report that I ate immoderately and with precisely imbalanced nutrition for over three decades.
While I enjoyed it, my blood pressure, blood glucose, and triglyceride levels did not.0 -

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!
I've recently tried this plan and I suffered weight loss! That can't be good can it?0 -
I think it can improve your overall mood and sense of humour.
I believe some diets can make people tetchy, controlling and irrational0 -
