how to describe womens body types
Since for some reason women get overly offended even when you try and compliment them we need a new method of compliment them.
you say: YOU HAVE A GREAT BODY, its a bit thicker
what they here: you have a great body, ITS THICKER!

Very common
also offensive words: thick, thicker, meaty, bigger, muscular.
not so offensive: skinny , twiggy
so heres a thought unless has some better ideas= DESCRIBE BODY TYPES WITH NUMBERS

You don't have to throw in the "It's a bit thicker"
How about just... "You have a great body"
That's all I need to hear. You're not an expert, so you don't need to use adjectives :P0 -
rather than say "thicker" why not say "you look more toned"
I don't want to be told "you look thick"
i got the compliment "You look fantastic" from a complete stranger the other day...and he wasn't creepy looking, actually kinda cute.0 -

My husband believes most women are 98% crazy. I'm only 2% crazy in his opinion, but when that 2% flares up, watch out, so I'd stay away from the numbers and just say "you look great!" and leave it at that.0

Sorry, that some of us don't know how to take a compliment.
I've gotten alot more laid back about compliments since I've lost weight though.
I like the 20% thing though. If all women knew what you were talking about, I actually think it'd work... I think that's my nerdy side talking though. I like hearing numbers and specifics like that.
Then again, you get women who get peeved about everything no matter what. I'll take whatever compliment I can get.0 -

Less is more. Keep it simple. Get a thesaurus...and look up other words for beautiful...like stunning, gorgeous, etc.
And not just our looks but compliment other things like our intelligence or our outfits!!
Actually, always compliment a woman's outfit. We take A LOT of time getting ready. We put a lot of thought into it. It would be nice to hear how sexy/beautiful/hot we look in it! Tell a woman she looks FANTASTIC!0 -
Just don't do it. Unless she asks you how she looks or if she gets dressed up/puts in effort. Other than that-just don't. At least that's my opinion. And only times I would want to hear anything on how I look.0

Not sure why you have to have categories.... are you an engineer?
A simple "you're looking great" should please most women - just don't use a tone of surprise or shock - that can come across as "you're looking great, but you really didn't look great before".
I think my message is that it's all about tone and context not just words. If that seems too hard, stick to "great to see you", it's a safer option!0 -

Men can't win. I will always second guess and misconstrue everything they say (or don't say!)...lol It has more to do with our own personal insecurities.
I have been obsessed with making my shoulders smaller since this personal trainer told me I had broad shoulders.
Later I learned that he thought it was very $exy...but I still feel self concious showing these shoulders off now...lol0 -
