how to describe womens body types

This really made me think i really do always get offended when guys try and use descriptions in their compliments I agree with others that say just go with a "You have a great body"
Men can't win. I will always second guess and misconstrue everything they say (or don't say!)...lol It has more to do with our own personal insecurities.
I have been obsessed with making my shoulders smaller since this personal trainer told me I had broad shoulders.
Later I learned that he thought it was very $exy...but I still feel self concious showing these shoulders off now...lol
seee lose lose... oh well0 -
All these lovely descriptions.
Personally I prefer to keep it simple:
Doable
Doggie
Complete and total darkness
Why darkness?
this isnt that bad i thought this was going to get a lot worse with my friends list lol so far these three and penis comparison are the worst lol not bad
I remember the good ol' days when telling a stranger you'd do her doggie would get you a restraining order.0 -
Dude, you need to avoid the valley of death not plunge head first into it.
My observation is that there is probably nothing you can compliment a lady with that won`t possibly offend her.
Saying nothing ever will most assuredly offend her.
Quite the perplexing situation isn`t it?
Give it your best shot, keep it short and sweet, hope for the best and be prepared to walk away confused.0 -
Most of the words you'd like to hear describing your penis shouldn't be used to describe her body.
So you don't like to hear "wow, you're well endowed!" ? :noway:
Do you like hearing guys say that to you?
why not? I have big boobs...0 -

That would fall into the "gray" area... also known as "no-man's land". Besides, that comment is focused on your chest, and not your body. Not sure most would find it a compliment. But kudos on being gifted. :flowerforyou:0 -
I don't know why women get so offended at being called curvy or thick. I would take that as a compliment!0
-
Okay, Carl is the man because he just threw done some serious wisdom! Men should not try and understand it just go with it!
The best compliment I ever got was "You look fit"0 -
-
I think you're over thinking things... Almost every woman is different. Personally I don't mind any of it as long as its not "fat, or big honed" I like thick, curvy, fit and nice rack! Lol. But I suppose to not risk it... Just start simple "you've got a great body" or old school with "you're pretty." Once you know her better you will know what she's comfortable with and can go from there...
Make a mental note... Don't compare to your ex. No matter how helpful you think you're being. I don't care about her boob job or what she did to have a tight *kitten*!0 -
Well, I was taught to pretty much never comment on people's looks, as you run too high a risk of offending. Works pretty well.0
-
I agree with most on here (even though i haven't read all the comments) that anything you can say could possibly be offensive since every is different and some women are more sensitive to other things, etc.
I'd stick to the basics like .. 'you have a nice body' or 'you look great' or something like that
simple = wins (because we are already too complicated) lol0 -
Since for some reason women get overly offended even when you try and compliment them we need a new method of compliment them.
you say: YOU HAVE A GREAT BODY, its a bit thicker
what they here: you have a great body, ITS THICKER!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Very common
also offensive words: thick, thicker, meaty, bigger, muscular.
not so offensive: skinny , twiggy
so heres a thought unless has some better ideas= DESCRIBE BODY TYPES WITH NUMBERS
" yeah, i like my women at about a 20%"
ehhh??? ehhh??? no?
just tired of offended women when im trying to give a compliment

bwahahahahaha0 -
First of all, I'd be offended if someone called me skinny, more so than I would be if they called me thick!
I don't get offended easily, but yeah...bigger? You're just dumb if you call a woman bigger.
Sometimes men do NOT have brains when it comes to saying things to women, my husband included.
Just play it safe and call her beautiful. You can never go wrong with calling any part of a woman beautiful.0 -

For me, all it takes is for my husband to gimme "the look" that says, I want to get you pregnant in 20 different yoga positions with the lights on, and no clothes. Best compliment he can ever give me.0
-
Things I would love to hear about my body:
Fit
Sexy
Awesome
Hot
Feminine
Add:
Amazing
Beautiful
Thing I hate to hear added: "for your age"
People often add on "for someone who has had a kid!" I dislike that addition, as well. I think I am doing well period, not just for someone who has had a child.0 -

You tell women their bodies are "thick" and you wonder why they get offended?
That is not a compliment! Just leave it at, "You have a nice shape." Good grief. Did you really need that spelled out?0 -
I was told my butt was “very distracting” at the gym by a 20-something guy. Can someone explain that one to me?0
-
Be very, VERY careful with 'thick' - it means stupid in a lot of other English-speaking countries! It certainly wouldn't be my choice of complimentary adjective in any case - too many variations on how 'thick' is viewed. I would agree with keeping it simple - "you have a great/lovely/beautiful body", if you're going to comment directly on her physique, though I'd still say you're safer with a genuinely-delivered "You're beautiful/pretty/gorgeous/so elegant" - non-specific definitely reduces the potential for offence.
Except in specific situations, I'd rather hear something that implies that a man is looking at me as a whole person, rather than just assessing my physical appeal for sex...0 -
You don't have to throw in the "It's a bit thicker"
How about just... "You have a great body"
That's all I need to hear. You're not an expert, so you don't need to use adjectives :P
YES. Know when to stop. "You have a great body" is the compliment, so once that's out-- shut your face.0 -

He finds it hard to concentrate with your butt in the room. haha.. I like it.0 -
I've learned never to put a time stamp on a compliment.
"You look stunning tonight"
the reply "what, I didnt look good earlier?" :grumble:0 -

Good grief... you guys hang around some seriously high-maintenance women. I can honestly say I have never been offended by a compliment from any man I was dating. (And, trust me, it isn't because they've all been exceptional men.)
Then again, I'm pretty difficult to offend... unless of course you just say something completely idiotic like calling me "bigger" or saying I "have a pretty face".
Some of my favourites, though:
"That dress? It's working."
"After I saw you this morning, I couldn't stop thinking about you."
"Wow."
So... try subtlety!0 -
Favorites that have come out of my husbands mouth....."Nice poopa!" and "You're hotter than a Hot Pocket" <---think that one came from 'My big redneck wedding" episode....lmao.......either way, a simple "You look great" is good and safe, I think.0

Skinny is offensive! Muscular is a great word, I strive to be muscular!
Good words: toned, fit, trim, athletic, slender, hot0
