What do you eat when you need to "snack"

Plain air-popped popcorn is only 93 calories for 3 cups, and you can always add a little olive oil or salt for flavor.0

Celery sticks are good cause they need a bit of chewing - we often chop up a bunch and put it on a communal table at work for everyone to munch on. Gotta love having a department that have all gotten on board the healthy eating thing!
Raw nuts are also good, I've always got a tub of mixed pistachios, almonds, macadamias, walnuts, etc on hand as well0 -
1) Gum!
2) Popcorn
3) Berries
I Love all these very much!0 -
home popped popcorn (for crunchy days&), gherkins (for salty days), and frozen peas (for I'm reading and want something to do that is mindless type days).0

I've discovered two things for me. I love chocolate. The first is Double Feature Trail Mix from Whole Foods. It has almonds, cashews, sour cherries and mini peanut butter cups. A 1/4 is only 150 calories and 4 grams of protein. The second is Quaker 25% Less Sugar granola Bars 100 calories a bar and only 5 grams of sugar. I love the Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter ones.0

My go to snacks are frozen blueberries (full of fiber so they stay with you a while). Fried pork skins, almonds, a tsp of peanut butter, one hershey kiss. I try not to "deprive" myself but if its not in my house I can't eat it.0

Peanut butter and apple. I eat this almost everyday....0

i dont munch throughout the day... i do keep enough cals for a skinnycow though :-) or strawberries (i love them)0

If it's just an oral fixation, there's chewing gum in every imaginable flavor. Extra has dessert flavored ones - Apple Pie, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Strawberry Shortcake.
If you are actually hungry, Reduced Fat String Cheese Sticks, Raw baby carrots, Raw Pepper Slices (mini sweet peppers)
And when I need a "naughty" snack, I love Dark Chocolate Roasted Almonds...or a single Hershey's Special Dark Miniature bar (I've still got some in the freezer from a bag I bought over 6 months ago)
and I agree, if you're actually hungry have something nutritious, but if not there are some great gum flavours. oddly I sometimes just brush my teeth when I feel that way.0 -
I love very crisp and cold celery. And if I need to sweeten it up a bit I add a smidge of peanut butter and some raisins. Very kid like, but also very satisfying. I also just learned how low calorie red and orange raw peppers are tonight. If you think you don't like them, try them again! Wait for them to go on sale and pick up one. The red and orange are the sweetest and very crunchy! Good luck!0

I find my best strategy is to eat enough good nutrition for each of my 3 meals so that it isn't necessary to snack. That means each of my meals has some carbs, protein and fat. I don't believe in doing diet versions of anything because if they're fat free, they're loaded with sugar and if they're sugar free they're loaded with sodium (a sure way to retain water and therefore weight), so I always go for the real stuff (except milk - I do 2%).0

A clementine, some nuts, pan popcorn with canola/olive oil and sea salt. These seem to be popular choices. : ) Also, tea.0

oatmeal, peanut butter, banana, and whey. only about 500 calories.0

I usually grab a frozen yogurt smoothie bar or an apple0
-
Almonds or an apple with peanut butter or almond butter. Both fill me up quickly!0

Raw vegetables, fruit, kale chips, roasted chickpeas, freeze dried fruit, air-popped popcorn, single servings of nuts (it's easy to overdo these, but they can be nice and filling). Occasionally I'll eat pretzels or crackers too, but again, you have to watch the serving sizes. Veggies, and high-water fruits (e.g. watermelon) are your best bets, because it's hard to do a lot of damage with them. And gum helps too.
I mean no disrespect, but did you aquire a taste for these foods? I think Kale chips and wonder if it was something you liked over time, or if you were raised with it???0 -
I love raw almonds... I take a small handful when I'm hungry between meals. They have the healthy type of fat & no too many calories, plus a great satisfying crunch.0

oranges & apples
they are delicious, slice them both the same way with the peel on, and then you can pick them up and much them & if the apple isn't cutting it with crunch & tart, theres a big piece of juicy sweet orange there too. and the oranges stop the apples from browning quickly i think.. i might be wrong.0 -

walls mini-milk lolly ice are fab and only 30 cals! can get them in choc strawberry or cream so theyre a perfect sweetie fix too!0
-
Apple slices with peanut butter, plain air-popped popcorn, almonds, bell pepper slices, grapes.
Sometimes I munch on dry kashi cereal too.0 -
Sugar snap peas! Sweet, crunchy, and eating through the whole bag will set you back about 150 cals.
A bag of sugar snap peas is also cheaper than a bag of Doritos.0 -
I have an oral fixation which is one of the reasons I am so fat!!! I have started chewing on straws, but it just doesn't cut it. Are there any low calorie snacks you like to munch on through out the day?
hahaha I also chew on straws I drink coffee first, then chew on the straw. Aside from that, my go-to snacks during the week / at work are:
hard-boiled eggs
raw almonds
carrots + hummus
cheese sticks
PB (pre-portioned to go packs, otherwise I'd wreck my day)0 -
Love string cheese, or fruit.0
