Hello everyone! I'm 5 days into this site and I was looking for some tips and ideas on what foods to eat. What are some healthy foods you cannot live without and why? I know I can't go more than a day without almonds :-)

    Hi there -
For me, once I got rid of all the processed foods and began eating 'healthy', I began to crave certain things:
    Salmon
    Sweet Potato
    Oranges
    Fage 0% yogurt

If I'm craving something crunchy, I make some roasted spicy chick peas. :)

    Good Luck!!!!!

Tilapia, apples, bananas, broccoli, greek yogurt, spinach.... I could probably make a day-long list, which is funny considering how long I ate junk food and overly-processed stuff. Now it's like, you don't give me my yogurt and I'll hurt you.

There is no one food that I can't live without, but I can tell you one nutrient that I can't go without... fiber! If I don't eat enough of it, my system just doesn't work right. I usually get lots of fiber in oatmeal and brown rice. I know a lot of people aren't into eating many carbs, but for me, whole grains make me feel so much better than when I don't eat them.

I can agree my system need lots more fiber, and less meat, to work right!!

What a great question. I like reading the other replies. The vitamix blender for my spinach, carrots, tomatoes, peanut butter, banana and almond milk smoothie. It makes me feel good and satisfied and I don't have as many cravings. But I'm the only one I know that like my smoothie. I also add flax but not in the blender.
