It absolutely can be done. Just take it a week at a time. You will be surprised how fast the time goes and before you know it the weight will be off! :) And the best part?? You don't have to starve and suffer to get there! Bonus!! ;)

first of all congrats to all of you! so you have all lost your weight just by following the calories that this site gave you? did you do anything else? how much do you excercise? sorry for all the questions but i'm just curious. i just joined on 4/3/08. so obviously i'm not seeing drastic progress, but i feel like i'm getting nowhere and i really want to lose by summer (swimsuit:cry: ) even if it is 5 lbs.

I actually started out doing ediets, which gave me a caloric intake of around 1600-1700 calories. It gives you a meal plan etc. I wasn't always following that so much but was using the meal plan as a guideline for how many calories per meal, etc. Eventually I realized that I wasn't using ediets the way it was meant to be used and was only using the nutrition tracker and realized I could do that for free!!! So, I found this site and have been using it for awhile and having the same results as on ediets. I still use some ediets recipes..but all in all it has been counting calories, exercise, etc that has helped me shed 75 lbs so far. I measure EVERYTHING. Even down to a tsp of mustard. It just keeps me honest.

Now I eat around 1500 calories, a little more if I exercise well.
  • I started in October and have lost 57lbs so far (in six months). I still want to lose more, but not sure how much more!

I have to admit that I am/was a hairstylist so my hair is always changing! What picture did you like, I can tell you what the cut is so you can have someone do it for you!

I follow the calories this site gives me. I don't drink soda anymore (maybe one every once in a long while). I try to stay away from the middle of the grocery store and all that processed food. Cut wayyyy back on eating out. I drink water all day long. I go for a walk, bike ride, or rollerblade every morning just so I can get outside and enjoy it. I rotate yoga and weight lifting every day. Try to jog or do some other kind of cardio at night. One day to rest. It's working for me  Good luck to you!

Ive started on my own on jan 1st (yeah, new year resolution !! )
    started mfp on jan 25th

so far lost 25lbs. yayaya !!
    from 220 to 195

i wanted to be down to 185 by may 9th (i go home, after 6 months away) but 10 lbs in 1 month is a little much, so as much as i can really, 7-8 more pounds. under 190 for sure.
i've given myself 1 year to loose all of 75lbs , but at this rate i might be done before that, but no pressure.

All of you guys are doing amazing, its really nice to know that there is people out there going through the same things as i am, the ups and the downs alike. I really wish all of you well !!!

Just so no one gets discouraged out there. I've been here since September and have lost, drum roll please, 14 lbs.

It's ok not to lose quickly.

I started March 14th and have lost 4 lbs and have 5 lbs more to go. (Started at 117 and trying to get to 108)

Apparently this is going to be the hardest to lose
