Long Raven hair, doesn't matter on what body frame.

I find it interesting that so many people think body builders have some kind of personality defect or issues. Is this from personal experience or a common stereotype? Not trolling just curious. Personally I have found most tuff guy with attitude problems were the Strong/fat bouncer kind of guys. The few body builders that I have seen around seem to be pretty cool but I dont know any very well. Never had any experience with the roided out meat head kind of guys though so I have nothing to go on there.

I'm good friends with several competitive body builders and I can speak from experience they tend to be pretty self focused but that comes with the territory. I am too and my bf just has to deal with it. For the most part they're normal guys (get enough of them together and you may get a serious testosterone surge) but they aren't that much different than the other "athletes" I've known. (Wrestlers, MMA fighters, Rugby, Football Players etc...) I think that the "personality defect" is that meat head stereo type.

For me, anything from this (not him, just the figure in this picture):

    brad-pitt.jpg

    to obesity.

Any more muscle is a turn-off, as would be any thinner.

My fiancé is morbidly obese, and of course I find him incredibly attractive.

I'm just curious... But if your fiance were to lose weight, and become healthy and fit, would you find him less attractive?

Sorry for the delayed reply. As long as he didn't build muscle beyond that image, no. Of course, I want him to lose weight. Whilst I find him very attractive now he's not healthy at all. There's more to it than the way it looks, and I'd like not to be a widow at 45. I'm desperate for him to lose weight. Unfortunately, he's not.

Edit: I should add, I'm not so shallow that I'd let any extra muscle end the relationship, but I've made it clear (in case he ever does decide to get healthy) that I don't find more muscle attractive. He's promised not to go there.

If you can't count her ribs she needs to drop some weight bro.

That doesnt bother me I just have a big <3 <=====3 heart what can I say. :drinker:

You seem to have good size, you can have any woman you want... pick one, i'll set it up

LOL Nah thanks bro. Woman who don't like men with tons of muscles are a bit to shallow for me. I work out very hard to try to gain lean muscle and to be in the best healthy shape I can possibly be shooting for the stars. But what seperates me from these women here is that I look more into ones personality than ones physical shape because like money, fat, and muscle can always come and go but to find a great personality is a real treasured beauty reguardless of fat or muscles.

TRUST me. There are a lot of women who very much appreciate muscles and fitness  Even more who appreciate a good quality man (personality, sense of humor, etc.). Put them both together, and you've got the perfect man for many women.

I'll be sorta attention whorey and put myself out there for judgement, granted this pic is from November and I think I've made better progress since then.

:drinker: Go ahead...give your opinion if you want, I can take it.
You need nicer carpeting in that room.

I like muscles. I like lean. I like a little pudge. But what really gets me is personality.

My wife and I joke about who's attracted to who, TV wise... And she's attracted to "Jason Morgan" on General Hospital.. He's a muscly guy... I'm NOT!! But she loves me the way I am. But, I'm STILL GETTING IN SHAPE!!! It'll only make her more attracted to me!

I'm not going to deny, I don't have a clue what specifically causes my 'disgust' (I use that word incredibly loosely, sorry!). The veins that are visible, the skin being pulled over sharp muscles and not soft and gently rounded. The physical side of it is definitely the main turn-off.

But, on an emotional level, my own experience of men with muscles has been split. However, I have known a lot who are gym focused, who think their muscles mean something about who they are, who are the rude, abrasive and shallow type. Also, people who take powders and special drinks to get the way they are. That's not attractive.

All interesting, because the worst and most aggressive person I've ever known was obese, like my fiance.

Of course, my opinion is just one. There are people out there for everyone, and a lot of people go for that. Hell, I'm a hypocrite as well. I'm still overweight at the moment, but fitness and health have been a big part of my life for nearly a year and a half now, and I am noticing a little muscle on my own body. I think where I eventually want to be (toned, with definition though not loads of it) is probably beyond what I'd find attractive in the opposite sex. I'm not saying there's any logic to my preference for men without big muscles.

Well I love my husband not because of his looks but for his personality. He's 30+ years older than me and has been a plasterer for even more years than that lol so he has a good strong frame and a lot of muscle behind lots of puppy fat lol. I wouldn't change him one bit :)

P.S. I've dated really skinny men and muscly men and (in those instances) they were boring because all they thought about was working out and it screwed the relationship right up as I wanted to spend some more "we" time and enjoying life.

Which is why my husband is perfect because we enjoy life :)

Personally, I like men/guys who have definition but aren't bulky with muscles. I hate body-builder like bodies, I prefer a little fat over their muscle (:

Example; (my friends think im crazy by the way) I like the older, chubbier leonardo dicaprio over the young titanic leo D. think shutter island & blood diamond

    Big LOL @ this thread.

I see it's all about the abz.

BRB eating 1000 calories a day and doing endless hours of cardio.

Thank God, I don't lift weights for women. I would be unattractive!

Pretty much my only preference is that I don't like small guys. I want to be the fragile one, and preferably I want the guy to be able to throw me around a bit. If I can squat me, he should be able to too!

    I like lean guys.

Like, the type of muscle he builds in his arms from playing too much guitar and a six pack and nice obliques he gets from ****ing too hard.

    ;D

True story...that's how my boyfriend is and I wouldn't have it any other way!

i just dont like for it to go too extreme in either direction...not into insanely muscled men like body builders, but i dont want insanely thin men either. i would break either of those rules for personality though...but to just decide on looks, itd be somewhere in the middle, just kinda nicely toned basically i guess.

I agree. And, like you said, I'd break anything for personality. I don't care if you 're built like Ryan Goslin, if your personality doesmt fit the bill, it's a no-no.

It is my opinion that women who say they don't like 'muscley men' only say so because a 'muscley man' hasn't taken interest in them.

LMAO, i agree for the most part definitely.

Again, we all like something different...beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I had a friend that really liked skinny men...I mean very skinny. LIke Adam Levine skinny....this isn't really my type.

I do like some muscle, and I am usually most attracted to lean cut men though.

I really dislike bodybuilder men with too many lumps and bumps. I actually despise the look where the trapezius muscle gets too large. To me it looks as though the shoulders are growing into the neck and it makes the men look stumpy...haha

I do appreciate & respect all their hard work.

My husbands body type is perfect for me. He's got less than 5% body fat, 5'11" ft 195lbs. He's got a great body. Broad shoulders, 6 packs, defined back, small waist, and fine a**. When I was dating in high school, I dated bigger guys since I was a chubs myself. But when him and I met, I knew HE was 100% right for me ( not based off his body. Just him in general.) He was the first motivation for me to lose weight, and get fit!

The Rock is a very good example of what I've come to like. I used to hate muscled men but the more I watch my husband get fit and buff the more and more I find myself attracted to him.

Bonus point, my husband actually looks kind of like The Rock, lol.

"It is my opinion that women who say they don't like 'muscley men' only say so because a 'muscley man' hasn't taken interest in them."

NOT TRUE! My opinion is that huge muscles are so ugly and unnatural for women AND men.
I, myself, like skinnyish men, built kinda like Mick Jagger. yum.

I like a leaner look - triathlete looking men are hot (broad shoulders, defined arms & abs, nice strong legs ! I favor an all around look, and what muscle built comes from doing a variety of sports (including one sport using quick muscle fibers).

I like all kinds of men...Just don't like the steroid look or the "I think I'm muscular but it's mostly fat" type.

Ok that made me laugh! I have know many guys to have that attitude of I look good and I just want to say uuuhhh no...

This is a very interesting and kind of laughable thread. I wish MFP had a poll option in the forums. Something in the order of "BODY Wise who do you find most attractive"?

    A. Adam Levine & Topher Grace skinny near to ZERO muscle enough to bench press his body weight

    B. Ryan Gosling, Will Smith (I am Legend style), Gerald Butler (300) & Daniel Craig (007) lean muscle and could probably bench press his body weight

    C. Dwayne Johnson, Sylvester Stallone & Terry Crews (large muscle and could probably bench press more than his body weight)

Of the majority of my OFFLINE friends I have found type A above tends to be runners conducting no strength training, Type B cardio and or runners conducting 50/50 training. (50% cardio - 50% strength), and C type primarily strength and or body building with minimal to near ZERO cardio.

Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's been interesting to read the opinions of the intelligent ladies here. What I find most interesting is a preference then looking at a profile photo(s), it appears that preference is also based on how you prefer your ideal or current body type.

    Is that correct?

I like muscled men, but I think body building have too much muscle. and i abhor skinny men lol
-I think my favorite though is a swimmer's build. Nice broad shoulders and a lean waist, like an inverted triangle, yum! :D

    I love muscles!

    .

BUT, I like when a man is evenly muscled. I like them to have the big muscular legs, not just a huge upper body and bird legs.

There also has to be flexibility and functionality as well.

lmao, women lie about this stuff...

ETA: Let me clarify, 95% of the pictures these women post up look NOTHING like their husband/boyfriend. IF a woman says they don't like a certain bodytype, would these women still be with their boyfriend/husband if their body became that type?

eye candy != relationship material. I also know a lot of guys whose long-term partner doesn't look like their preferred eye candy ...

Terry Crews is hot. Just sayin'.... He's got a great body that's very proportional...

There are plenty of women who like muscley men too. Everyone has their preference

    I like men. Period.

If the personality is attractive, I could be attracted to a bigger build man...I find it to be a reflection of hard work and dedication which is very sexy. On the other side, a less bulky man could be equally attractive and admired (usually triathletes, runners, etc)..again, very sexy.

So really it just brings me full circle to one point: I like men (nice, sweet, funny men).
