I am hoping some of you have some good fruit salad recipes. I have been craving this for quite some time, but when I have went online to look, I haven't found any that don't have extra sugar added. :( It kinda bums me out. I am wanting to make this all out of fresh fruit.

I don't follow a recipe; I just throw whatever fresh fruit I have on hand into a big bowl. To keep the apples from turning brown, I use a can of pineapple chunks with its juice (the only canned fruit I use).

See, I was thinking about doing that but I didn't have a clue if that would keep the fruit from turning brown so I never have done that.

Sweet! I didn't know that the canned pinapples would do that either. I usually just throw fresh fruit all together and enjoy. No added sugar or anything. Depending on the time of year, I like bananas apples black grapes strawberries and cantalope. And now Pinapple chunks. lol

I love LOVE apple salad! cut some apples into chunks (gala are my fav), add some raisens, pecans, a few mini-marshmellows(not neccessary if you want to cut sugar), and some yogurt to keep the apples from turning. You could really make it your own with some grapes or other favorite fruits.

Lemon juice also works. Anything with citric acid in it

You can also sacrific a few oranges slices and mush the juice around the salad. Though I love the pineapple juice myself :)

I like to add orange slices in addition to a sprinkle of lemon juice! Extra vitamin C can't be all bad, can it? :)

Yep - I use a little bit of orange juice in mine for this, or a squirt of lime depending on what fruits I'm using.

You could also chop the apples up and throw them in a bowl of cold salted water for a few minutes- don't need much salt , and can even rinse the apples off before adding to the salad - I usually prepare apples for my kids lunches this way.

I love going to the produce section and just grabbing fruits that look good. I get a variety and I know nothing extra is added.

    good things,
apples, bananas, papaya, kiwi, strawberry, anything actually, you can't go wrong.

Watermelon, cantalope. honeydew, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, kiwi, mango

I don't put apples or bananas in mine though

Libby's makes a low sugar fruit salad - it's called "Libby's Skinny Fruits", it's low sugar and low cal. I like it except the banana in it but it has mango, papaya, banana, and some other stuff in it, I got the "tropical fruit" one

I make it with apples, grapes, bananas, madarin oranges (drained) and then put FF/SF lemon yogurt on it right before it's served.

Hungry Girl had a really smart add in: peeled, chopped cucumber! Very low calorie and minimal flavor - helps reduce the overall calorie count.
