Mushroom Pot Roast
1 roast (I use a blade cut...)
1 pkg low sodium onion soup mix
1 can low sodium mushroom soup.
1. Pour soup all over the roast, sprinkle onion soup mix on top. On low for 8 hours.
2. Use the drippings to make gravy (pour in small pot, boil, add a bit of corn starch to thicken - DONE!). :flowerforyou:0 -

a favorite in our house- my husband said it made the house smell like Thanksgiving... lol
Slow cooker Roasted Chicken:
1 whole fryer chicken rinsed and patted dry
season with whatever you like - I used garlic salt and lemon pepper (season inside and out)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white wine
olive oil
so, once your chicken is rinsed and patted dry and seasoned, then you drizzle with a little EVOO, and rub it in, then put in slow cooker, add water and wine. 1 hour on high, then turn to low for 6-9 hours depending on the size of your bird.
so good! enjoy!0 -

They call it Crock Pot Soup, I think of it as more of a Chicken Chili
One cup of this ( for lunch) has really low calories... but beware if you're watching sodium. The sodium is extremely high. It is very yummy if not!!
It's all the canned stuff. You can drastically reduce the sodium content by using frozen corn, and your own homemade beans you cooked in the crockpot. Here's a no-soaking recipe:
Rinse and sort dried beans (any kind except kidney-there's a toxin in kidney beans that may not be destroyed by slow cooking), removing any stones or broken beans. Place beans in the crockpot and fill with water to about 2 inches above the beans. Cook on high for 5-6 hours. Drain and use. I find the beans about double in quantity (like, 1 cup of dried beans makes 2 cups of cooked beans), and after I drain them I store whatever I don't use immediately in the freezer in 2 cup portions.0 -

McCormick makes a Rotisserie Chicken seasoning (Perfect Pinch) that I sprinkle over chicken and cook for 4 to 6 hours. It smells so good, and tastes like the rotisserie chicken in the deli. There is also a Cajun variety that is good on chicken - I usually throw some green peppers in when I use that one.0
