I'm trying to find out if it is bad to eat oatmeal for lunch. If so I have been having trouble finding another food that gives the energy keeps my sugar low and keeps me full. I would love to hear ideas on this subject

I don't know if oatmeal for lunch is bad or not, but I enjoy it for lunch, especially on a cold day and I don't have anything else warm.1

Why would it be bad? If that's what you want, eat it.1

I eat it every day for lunch! I love it with frozen blueberries, stevia and cinnamon! To each his own! Good luck to you!1

I had some yesterday! I'm in an office, so I put two packages in a paper coffee cup, add hot water (tea water), cover and seep for a couple of minutes and it's good to go! Quick, filling, low fat/calorie, cheap lunch!0

I love it for lunch - a good whole grain. I like to keep the oatmeal portion smaller and top it with blueberries, greek yogurt and almonds.0

Oatmeal is good. I have it as a side dish with my bacon cheeseburger and pizza0

Any protein will keep you full also as a general rule ie. Chicken Breast, Turkey, etc..0

I hope its not bad because that's what I'm having, with an apple sliced up in it. Maybe it's bad if you don't get enough protein over the course of the day or something, but I can't imagine why it would be bad (assuming it's not loaded with sugar).0

I have oatmeal at any given point in the day. If I need the calories or I need the carbs, I'll even eat it at dinner.0

I used to work afternoon shift and eat oatmeal almost everyday for my 8pm "lunch" break
nothing wrong with it...I lost a bunch of weight during that time...
but I was also running 5km every morning
oatmeal is great!!!0 -
If it is good for breakfast, it must be good for lunch too.0

Sounds pretty healthy to me!0

*laugh* I have oatmeal every single day for breakfast or a mid-morning snack. Every couple of weeks I sit down and divide up the boxes, distribute one packet of stevia for each packet of oatmeal, and arrange my breakfast bars to be an assorted mix, too. Oatmeal is wonderful any time of the day. Why not?0

If it works for you and fits within your nutritional goals, why not? I have oatmeal for dinner on a regular basis because it has nutrients that help promote sleep, and it helps to clean excess estrogen out of your digestive tract (which is helpful in my case).
Add some orange juice on the side, and you have a superfood combo. http://www.health-actually.com/nutrition/oatmeal-and-orange-juice-superfood/0 -
I ate oatmeal for breakfast and lunch yesterday so I could eat a big dinner. I eat the old fashioned kind dry mixed with yogurt.0
