  • Does anyone have a great healthy preferably whole wheat pancake mix? or premixed that they buy...I love pancakes on the weekends..keeping it traditional. Also thanks for the awesome list! I was in the grocery store not too long ago and saw whole wheat waffles by Vans and thought that's one of the items from my ultimate grocery list...anyways I literally carry my phone with me when I go grocery shopping so we pretty much did the work for each other...awesome inputs!

    lovin these ideas!
  • Here's a new one to add guys...I just bought this today when I went on the search for the most health pancake mix:

*Bob's Red Mill: High Fiber Pancake & Waffle Whole Grain Mix

*Truvia All natural 0 calorie sweetener

I made some this morning...2 servings. I simply added 1 cup of liquid eggs from the carton and made two very large pancakes, topped it with my Tru Whip organic topping and wow was it yummy. I think I would have enjoyed it a little better if I added a tad bit of 0 cal sweetener to it. Overall it was still pretty yummy. if I hadn't eaten all two servings I would have added some frozen blueberries! Maybe next time.

    *Light Ginger Sesame Dressing

  • Recipe for a different kind of salsa.

    What you will need:

serrano pepper (depending on how hot you want this I would say you will need one of more if you making it for a party)

Onions either white or the purple one

    Roma Tomatoes

Spinach (pre-package is easier, less water to ruin texture)

Blender or hand held blender if you don't have a regular blender

There is no measurement really...but here's an example

I made some today with....for the first time...totally random idea.

    2 roma tomatoes
    Handful of spinach
Approx 1/8-1/4 cup of onions, again you can add more if you love onions
2 serrrano peppers (which I regretted, those suckers are hot!)
a dash of seasoning salt (i use johny's seasoning salt) or just salt..again if's a tad bit on the saltier side it's better I think.

I threw all of these items in my ninja and push blend, you can use the pulse feature on your blender to get a slightly chunkier style, i like the smoother style almost looks like pesto!

    it's pretty yummy.....

I used this on baked tilapia, on cabbage stir fry (i take cabbage slaw mix and stir fry it with spray oil) on rice, on scrambled egg whites...pretty much on anything that I feel needs a little taste or spice.

another variation, replace the spinach with one bell pepper...pretty good stuff too. I'm still experimenting if I come with more addition I will share...otherwise I'd waiting to see if people try it and like it or not? share your thoughts~

.I've kept it in the fridge in Tupperware for a week and it was perfectly fine.

TRYING TO FIND THESE: House Foods Tofu Shirataki Noodle Substitute
They sell them online but I want to get them in the store to try them before I order bulk online. I hear theyre an excellent replacement for pasta-I love pasta but hate the calories!

I just finished two packets a couple weeks ago. I get mine from Wholefoods...do you have one where you live? if not find an organic like store and I bet you they will have them. but here's info that I found on their website:
    http://www.house-foods.com/tofu/tofu_shirataki_store.aspx

select your state and it will list the store in your area that carries it. I don't recall if I mentioned it in my post above but i mixed it with shredded cabbage and carrots...you have to disguise it well so that the taste doesn't throw you off.
