Welcome everyone to the 3,500+ calories burned challenge. This weekly challenge has been going on for over a year now and it's open to everyone!

This is a weekly challenge to meet 3,500+ calories burned. You set your own calorie goal for the week (even if it's below 3,500 - you can work your way to that goal!). Each day post the calories you burned, current total and how many you have to go. That's it, not too hard, other than push push pushing yourself to hit your goal. Everyone is such an inspiration on this challenge. Keep up the good work for the people returning and welcome to the newbies.

    Count me in! I know I already burn a lot, so I'll set my goal just a bit higher: 5,800

    Monday: 800 - Insanity month 2 (fit test + max)
    Tuesday 700 - Insanity month 2
    Wednesday 700 - Insanity month 2
    Thursday 500 - Insanity month 2 (max recovery)
    Friday 700 - Insanity month 2
    Saturday 700 - Insanity month 2
    Sunday (today) 4000 - 105km bike ride (ouchie)

    Brilliant Idea guys, I never thought about putting in a high goal limit, only been doing all of this for a week so far and based on my exercise for last week I'm going to put my goal at 5000 I think, and see where we go from there.

    Hi! How are you able to determine how many calories you are burning on your Insanity workouts? I use the videos too, but don't have anything to use to keep track of the calories burned, but I know I'm burning them (especially when I hit the floor after the workout!) :smile: Thanks for your input. Congrats on making it to month 2 of the workout!

    Hey again all! Last week I was well over target, so I'm going to do something that for me is a little scary - but I'm going to up my goal!! I was at 6.2 kcal last week, with a goal of 4.5. Wish me luck!!

    I would imagine he's using a heart rate monitor, the most accurate way to get the calories burned. If you don't have one and can't invest in one (you can get a great basic Polar model for around $65) logging it here at Circuit Training, General is probably a good bet.

    I use a heart rate monitor and my 2nd half insanity workouts (MAX vids) all suggested somewhere in the 1200-1400kcals range (i'm 27, male, 220 lbs). I think that is high so I just assumed 900-1000 cals. My heart rate average was 150-160 or 80-85% of my max. I got a sportline duo heart rate monitor (with chest strap) from ebay for $25 and it has worked for over a year without incident.
