Just curious --when/if you have a cheat meal/day, what's your average cal intake compared to every other day?

Oh hell, on cheat day it's probably 3-4000? Hard core cheater here haha0

I'm not a cheater. I don't really go over the calorie bar, but for one meal on Saturday I'll enjoy an extra sweet or something. It's hard for me to let myself only cheat once a week if I was going to cheat.0

I hit 3k on Fridays and Saturdays but I need that fuel for the weekend because I go cross country running or hiking (10+miles) on weekends. Also because I maintain 1500-1800 M-Th and weekends I hit 2-3k which is part of my zig zag diet. This is the only thing that worked for me past my plateau.0

I'm usually 500-1500 calories over on a cheat day. I have these too often haha.0

I try not to go over 500 on my daily calorie intake. Sometimes I don't even go over. It just depends on what I decide to eat.0

Wow! I don't think I could eat that many calories if I tried! ... well, partially because I'm poor, and it's hard to eat a lot of calories when you're poor, but still!
The last time I had a cheat day, it was unintentional. I had already reached my calorie goals and then my friend suddenly decided to make Japanese style curry. That was the end of that! I probably went about 500-800 over, if I count both the curry and the rice I had.0 -
i don't really cheat...i might go over by 300-500 cals. but i make sure i have a good workout...and if i want the cheeseburger with extra bacon for dinner i get it. and probably fries.0

My "cheat days" (really just days that I happen to go over) tend to be about 1500 or 1600cals.0

My cheat day consists of Pizza Hut buffet...I don't even want to THINK about what the calories are hahaha0

about 1000 calories. =( i'm working on having less cheat days0

Same here too!!!:embarassed:0 -
A cheat day for me would be eating at maintenance level. That gives me 400 or so extra calories for dessert or whatever...and I haven't even really gone off track because I'm still at maintenance!!! It's not something I'd do very often, though.0
-
occasionally I have a small cheat day at home where I eat closer to maintenance calories. My real cheat days are when I go out to eat which is maybe 1-2 times a month. Last week I had one of those days. I ate about 800 or so calories for breakfast and lunch then didn't log my dinner because it was a local restaurant and I didn't have nutritional info. Anyway all that to say I would bet my dinner and desert were close to 2000 calories that night which would put me over by 1200 calories.0

oh it's too embarassing to count! I overdo it at family get togethers, it can go into 2 maybe even 3000.0

Yep. Easily.0 -
I had an unintentional cheat day today. It was snowing, cold, and I was sore from lifting yesterday so I hung around the house and snacked...and did basically nothing else.
I was over by 500 calories. First "Cheat day" I've had in a long time. And I made good choices (you can see my diary), just too much of it.0 -
My Free Days are "eat as much as you want of whatever you want" all day, once a week for me. I can easily go over my "goal" by over 4000 calories if I cared to track it, but NOT tracking it is integral to the "Free Day". I got this from "Body For Life", it's a cornerstone of that program, and it really accelerated my results. I don't do BFL by the book anymore, but this is one of the tenets I think I'll always keep.0
-
My cheat day is right below maintenance... Also, I wouldn't call it a cheat day, because I just have a cheat meal and a little bit of alcohol. I honestly prefer a good pasta and some wine. If I eat poor quality food I can eat thousands of calories, but it makes me feel like crap...so I still eat decent and have a little (big) glass of Moscato!0
-
I don't officially have cheat days. But every so often I just stop tracking for a few days and its always a struggle to start again. But those times are getting fewer and farther between. I have also just upped my calories so I'm hoping that will make this easier. Probably a slower process but easier to stay with. I wouldn't worry to much about an occasional cheat day though. It should get easier.0

I thought I was going to go WAY over this past weekend, because of my beer/liquor intake. But I ate less, and only snacked on pretzel rods here and there, so I didn't go WAY over really. Pretty happy about that! Tracked it on here, too! (might've left out a few jager shots tho!)0

I have a cheat meal on friday eve. or saturday and I do not log it... It can be anything from a nachos and cheese appetizer, 14 inch pizza, and hit the ice cream store (cold stone creamery) something along those lines.. I dont fret it because it is my treat for busting my butt all week long and it keeps me honest the rest of the week and eating on plan...0

When I first started at MFP, a cheat day could be anywhere from 5,000 to 7,000 calories since I was still in old habits. However, today I sorta had a chat day and did like 2500 calories and after burning it out, I still have 60+ calories left to eat. Same thing happened in last weeks cheat day when I went out to eat bbq and still managed to have remaining calories after working out.
Basically, the more you stay on MFP, calculating and stuff, the more you're gonna get used to things and will endup having better cheat days0 -
Yeah if 2500 calories is a bad day for me, once in a while, I can live with that!0
-
I haven't done a "cheat" day yet. Since I started I haven't gone over the calorie limit, there were times when I was close, but I got it all in.
Anyway, I do make myself a big breakfast on Sunday, about 400- 500 calories - but I just work that into the day - having just a light lunch and normal dinner.
And I allow myself decadant food when I want it. If I want Ben and Jerry's I will get it, maybe once per week, those little tiny 1 portion cups- for about 240-350 calories. But again, I get rid of my other snacks throughout the day to have that.
And I make myself healthy "desert" like snacks all the time. Like I will throw half a cup of plain fat free greek yogurt in the blender, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and 140 grams of frozen mangos and a few frozen blueberries. It's the constancy of icecream and ultra healthy.0 -
I have a weekly bonus calorie budget that I use for splurges and such over the weekend and spread the remainder over the rest of the days. My average daily is still at a healthy losing rate. This is a similar plan to weight watchers and incorporates the high/low days that really help me.0
-
Just had a cheat day, though I didn't really intend to - husband and I went out of town, and boy, it is difficult to eat healthy when going out to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! At least for me, anyway I went 500 calories over, and it was delicious0
-
3~3500 cals for me, including alcohol with a cheat meal. It's all budgeted and my cal goal is about 2100 anyway.0
-
I like to stay around 2,000 or just under. My TDEE is 2500 and I'm suppose to net 1650 ( I really net closer to 1400ish). So it's a nice medium I think.0
-
I try not to have whole treat days! Maybe if I was to have a treat it would be within my calories or I'd go over by a few hundred and it will normally happen on a Saturday I just feel **** when I eat **** my body feels tired & fat so I'd rather not go over if I can help it, but we all need to go over now & then because it's good for our body's so I have heard to stop us getting stuck with our weight loss0
