Does it really matter?
1) you're there to work out, work out.
2) you should be confident in whatever you're wearing to talk to a girl/lady/woman.0 -
Please tell me your goal in this question, is it to get looked at or to be approachable?
If it to get looked at by women, then topless. If it is to be approachable then you will want to wear clothing that is a bit clingy but not skin tight. I hope this helps. :flowerforyou:0 -

Now then, what'cha gonna do if the popular choice of attire is lycra leggings with a tank top?0 -

anything else is fine I think0 -
Comfortable & Clean- IMO0

Nothing sweat stained. Or not washed from last time.0

Well it all depends on what kind of girls you are trying to attract?
For me, I like pretty boys.
Basketball shorts with a muscle shirt or plain t-shirt, nothing to tight or bright please :glasses:
But I think I can speak for most of the girls, for men not to wear short short, or tight shorts, or shirts well as long as you have the muscle then by all means show them off but with the right material no spandex shirt please, or bright colors :noway:0 -

Agree 100%.0 -
Occasionally i see people wearing like, polo shirts or cargo shorts. There's nothing wrong with that, I guess. It just looks out of place to me.0

anything where your nuts and penis arent hanging out of it. i swear i've see too much unwarranted nutsack in weight rooms. if you insist on wearing loose legged high cut shorts then please for the love of god wear underwear.
beyond that i dont care0 -

I'm with this! I love typical athletic stuff on guys if they are muscular! Baggy clothes, but not like oversized if that makes sense? lol.0 -
I don't go to the gym to look at guys so I don't care. As long as you don't get on the machine next to me wearing something that's clearly not been washed for days, good for you.0

Go bare chested in some tight green speedos. You'll be fighting them off with a stick, 100% srs.0 -
This is what I pretty much wear to the gym everyday, A few weeks ago when the temps rose above 80 the guys started wearing their tight Under Armour muscle shirts and the girls started wearing their Nike Combat booty shorts and sports bra's (not complaining) But im there to workout and not worried about making a fashion statement etc. Though I do know how to read a label and dress to impress outside the gym,

It's not a nightclub. Leave the cologne at home, too.0

I don't pay attention to what people wear, to be honest. I think most guys where I go wear sweats and t shirts.0
-
Hardly matters. Not to me, at least.
A guy working out in worn out shorts and sweaty T is way amazing than a guy in awesome gear just lazying around, checking out chics.0 -

Love it0 -
Personally, when I go climbing or go to a gym to train, I wear cheap clothes that is thin and often torn because it's going to get dirty, covered in chalk dust and soaked in sweat. Obviously, the clothing is clean and fresh when I enter said gym!0 -
wear the baggiest shorts in the gym and form fitting muscle shirts and put on the same black converses :P0
-
Gym shorts and a singlet for me... Cant wear t-shirts I get to sweaty! hahaha
On super cold days I will wear skins0 -
Sweat. Sweat gets me noticed.0

I like legs, so a nice pair of shorts is nice...so I can watch your legs as you lift or run. And I like nice shoes with ankle socks. Simple tshirt....maybe something with shorter sleeves so I can see your arms as you lift. MMMM I love some eye candy at the gym.
Edit: I also don't like it when hot guys are on their phone a lot between sets or wearing earphones because they are unapproachable, and there's no possibility for small talk. I enjoy getting to know the people I always see at the gym, and I'm sweating with. It is also nice to meet people who have similar interests.
The gym is a great opportunity to meet work out buddies, running partners....or even snag a date with a like minded person.0 -

LOL! I agree with that, go with the basic/simple shorts and t-shirts. I don't care what others wear at the gym lol, but if I had to decide for someone, that's what I'd say!0 -
Don't much care what everyone else is wearing at the gym unless it's completely distracting-- we have pretty strict rules on what someone can wear at ours.
That being said, there is nothing better than seeing someone dress comfortably and working hard. If I see you adjusting your shirt back down because it's too tight or picking a wedgie-- I'm going to stop looking your way to be polite. (Nothing like getting half way through a workout and getting paranoid people are watching you due to your clothing.. )
The one time someone caught my eye at the gym-- it wasn't even clothing. The guy had a mohawk and was busting out on the treadmill like he was training for the apocalypse. ...It was hot as hell. :>
((Edited for word removal, I didn't like it. ))0 -
Not a fan of sloppy looking guys at the gym nor am I a fan of the pajama look.
Nice pants, could be sweats but as long as they're neat and not sloppy. shorts, not shorty-shorts either but basketball type shorts are ok. I don't mind the under armor short sleeved shirts. Wife beater t's are ok as long as they're tasteful and the guy can rock it.0 -
This ok?
