I am probably going to be mocked beyond belief for admitting this, but I went to the NKOTB reunion concert back in 2008 and it was absolutely amazing! I loved them when I was a kid but never got to see them, so I jumped at the chance of seeing them in concert. Sure, it was a little funny hearing 40 year old men sing about 'shorties', but they put on a really great show. I'll go and hide in my corner now...

No mocking here I LOVE NKOTB!!! Yes and I have been to 10 shows and 1 cruise and going on another one in June!! For 5 men in the 40's they are KICK A**, and taking names!!! They make feel young and free!! I actually met all 5 of them!! SO down to earth

    1. I saw Saves the Day, Motion City Soundtrack, and Say Anything. What was so great was that the lead singer for MCS was quite ill so all the other singers on tour filled in for him, singing his songs. They all had songs that matched their voices, and most had to have the lyrics printed out with them, but it was something that not many people got to see.
    2. I just saw Bruce Springsteen with my dad, I knew approximately zero songs, but he has a great stage presence and puts on a great show!
    3. Hanson. You know, the mmmbob kids? well they're all grown up now and they have great music. I've seen them at least 4 times, and they always raise money for kids in africa before their shows through what is called "the walk." The first time I did this it was december 2nd in Buffalo. COLD. Most of the people for the show were there at 1pm for the walk, when doors didn't open until 7. Hanson bought everyone hot chocolate, like the sweethearts they are.

One concert that has stuck with me for years is Genesis ABACAB tour. It had to be one of the best light shows I have ever seen. I have never seen another concert put that much emphasis on the light show and how it related to the music. Amazing. I was in college at the time.

The last concert I saw was Elton John in a small arena. I was only a few rows from the stage and it was awesome. He sang all of his hits, went 3 hours straight and still sounded fantastic. (This was just a month ago!)

I have 2 faves because the music style is so far apart from each other.

Alice Cooper at the MEN back in 2005 - that concert was brilliant - Alice Cooper definitely put on a show worth seeing

The other was Marianne Faithfull at the Hammsermith Apollo in 2006

I really want to see Steps live!
  • incubus!!!! i've been to a few different concerts but in terms of awesome talent incubus are the best i've ever seen!

I gotta say the best concert I attended was the Blake Shelton, Reba, and George Strait at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. It was awesome! There were thousands and thousands of people. Blake is a great personality and has stupendous talent, Reba is gorgeous and just keeps getting better, and of course George is timeless!

The second was the Night Ranger, Foreigner, and Journey concert (also in Dallas). I know Journey does not have the original singer and some people feel like it's just a karoake performance, but the guy sounds just like Steve Perry. It was a night full of great music!!

I have been to some great shows...but I gotta say my three favorites:
    - 1993 Guns and Roses "Use Your Illusion Tour" with Faith No More and Metallica at the old Texas Stadium was amazing!
    - 1997 U2's "Popmart" Tour at The Cotton Bowl... besides, who can't appreciate Bono?
    - 2009 Depeche Mode's "Sounds of the Universe" Tour at the Starplex/Gexa/whatever they are calling the venue nowadays in Dallas

I will say, I have gone to numerous concerts... I absoutely think Garth Brooks put on an amazing show at Texas Stadium...so did Tim McGraw/Faith Hill... and I don't really like country...

A local radio station puts on a few concerts each year and I've been to those that I had a blast at - including my favorites: EdgeFest #8 1999: Collective Soul, The Goo Goo Dolls, Toadies, Marvelous 3, Eve 6, Dovetail Joint, The Nixons, Blink 182, Lit, Stabbing Westward, Local H, Tin Star, Sponge...EdgeFest #3 1994:Violent Femmes, Crash Test Dummies, The Indians, Eve’s Plum, Possum Dixon, Dig, Material Issue, Crowed House, Tripping Daisy & Charlatans UK... and EdgeFest # 16 2007: Killers, My Chemical Romance, A.F.I., Muse, Blue October, Jet, Papa Roach, Bowling for Soup, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Kaiser Chiefs, Sparta, Saosin, Bullet for My Valentine, Say Anything, Placebo, Finger 11, Ataris

Pantera when I was 15. I actually ran away for the weekend just to go to this show. Afterwards I hung out with Biohazard. It was an epic night even if I did get grounded for a year. I love Phil! RIP Dimebag!

I also saw NKOTB in 2008. A couple of years before that, I told my bf what a HUGE fan I was back in the day and said if they ever got back together, he was going to take me to see them. Of course, he was like, "sure babe." You better believe I was quick to tell him when I found out they were gonna perform close to me in Texas. lol I was actually surprised how good the concert was. They are a really talented (then and now) group.

Best live concert is a tie between Harry Connick, Jr., and Lyle Lovett. They just both put on a very wonderful concert, and interact with the audience, so it feels very cozy and intimate. And Lovett is a stand-up comic!

I couldn't say the best play. I've seen so many that were amazing. Shakespeare in Delaware Park in Buffalo does two shows every summer and they are always absolutely incredible, Cats on Broadway ... Even the Little Theater and some high school productions I've seen have been incredible, so I can't pick one!

Ahaha. Man. I remembering being waaaay into NKOTB when I was in middle school. >_< (Along with Boys II Men.) I never did see them in concert though.

But back to topic, I loooooove live music. The last concert I went to was The Black Keys also (opening with the Arctic Monkeys, who I also enjoy but didn't put on that magnetic of an opening) and they were great, but I think I enjoyed them tons more when I saw them the first time (last year) playing a much smaller venue. I prefer small venue shows.

Green Day (either last year or the year before) put on a pretty ridiculously awesome performance, one of the best I've seen. They really make the audience feel like part of the show. (Or maybe that was because I was in the pit...)

For nostalgia, it was really great to see Bad Religion live recently. I couldn't believe they were an _opening band_ for a band they basically mentored (Rise Against, love them)... That totally made me feel old. ^_^

I'm excited about seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers in May, even though they are sans John Frusciante. But I've never seen them live, so still looking forward to it.

    Just amazing.
