My update after week 3 on April 2012 Challenge:

Weight at start of challenge: 159
    CW: 155
    GW: 154

    4/4 : 158 (-1)
    4/11: 157 (-1)
    4/18: 155 (-2)
    4/25:

4 down, 1 to go

NSV I have just completed my 5K training plan & signed up for a 5K in 2.5 weeks time! I also got a chance to run outside for the first time! I was a little slower than I normally would be on the treadmill at the gym but that is to be expected. I still managed to do 4 miles in 40 minutes so I was pretty pleased! Hopefully I will get a few more runs in outside before the actual run.

Well done to everyone this week! Keep up the good work!

Fantastic - well done you!! You've been losing weight really consistently :o) And well done on the running plan. I need to get speeding up my cycling average speed as I've signed up to a 26 mile bike ride in June, but you have to be able to average 13mph on the flat which I think I can do but hard to know as it's not flat where I live. I average around 11-12mph so I think it's ok. It'll motivate me anyway

I'm hoping to post a loss on Saturday and at least have shed most (if not all) of the ridiculous 3.5 lbs I put on over Easter and my week off. Talk about sabotaging my own progress, I never learn!

Thanks! I will have my fingers crossed for you this weekend! I'm sure the majority of the gain last week was 'water weight' and now that you are back to your regular routine this should come off easy enough. Drink lots and lots of water - which to me always since like strange advice but it definitely works!

Well done you for signing up for the cycle - it is great to have the confidence in yourself to know that you will be able to complete it (well that is how I feel anyhow - a few months ago there is no way I would have considered signing up for a 5K, now I think why not, I should be able to do it)! I cannot imagine doing 26 miles on a bike!!! Then again I cannot imagine cycling a 'real bike' at all it has been that long since I was on one! The last time I tried to cycle a bike I kept falling off ... balance is not one of my strong points :) If you can average 11-12 mph at the moment I'm sure you could 13mph on the flat. I hate hills with a passion! At least you have a target to aim for!!! Best of luck with the training.

c25k is a great way to get started. I have always wanted to be a runner too. I have made many attempts (even did a half marathon a long time ago) but then I stopped when I got pregnant with my son and never had the chance to get back into it. I started c25k in January and when I finished that I did an advanced beginner 5k training plan! I have completed that now, and I have signed up for a 5K at the beginning of May. I'm working on improving my speed at the moment now that I know I can do the distance. After that I plan to start training for an 8k! I am really enjoying it and it really works for me!

Best of luck with it & well done on the loss this week!

    1/4 = 179.4
    7/4 = 178.4
    14/4 = 182.0
    21/4 = 179.8

Lost 2.2 lbs this week, which is good - but I'm actually 0.4 lbs up on what I was at the start of the month. But I will finish April with a loss come what may - I am determined. Might not be 5lbs but hopefully at least 2.... watch this space!!
